I love the classic Spidey eyes; none of that modern McFarlane-Bagley crap! But why the corny boots? Spidey doesn't wear boots! The Cap boots look great and the shields are ____ing boss!

But are the masks rubber? They'll never last if they are. The rubber mask on my Hasbro Spider-Man 2 movie figure is shot to hell. Maybe it's hard but pliable plastic and slips over the head. Anyways, I'm down for a set of these! I'm a dirty, cheap toy whore.

Actually the vintage ones are not goofy looking. Even the Playing Mantis editions looked good. The vintage ones were especially tight. I'm not sure where MC got the idea they look ridiculous. It's an old school look, but the proportions are right. After reading that review, I was kind of under the impression he was trying too hard to justify the figure because it was given to him (costumes too). I'm all for a straight opinion. Either it's good or it isn't. And for this being a new line, it has a lot of basic problems straight out of the gate. Whatever your price point, you should always make a quality product and take pride in how it looks. Poor fitting costumes and badly proportioned masks don't provide me with a lot of confidence in this line. All formats have done alot to make a better quality figure through the years. And the ones that fail to follow, pay dearly for it. This line has quality issues. PERIOD. Trying to hide behind Ideal and claim their product looked ridiculous is a cop out.

I've been a collector of CA since 1966, AND YOU ARE SPOT-ON.

This ridiculous claim of the new CA product having a "retro" feel is utter BS when you take a look at the level of detail Ideal put into the figures and accessories 45+ years ago:

I guess these new pieces look good to people who think "vintage" means 1990's-era Toy Biz.

The original CA masks were made of vinyl, and most have held up surprisingly well.

apparently being Negative about a Toy line is looked down upon.Companies wouldn't get flack if they came 95% close to the product they were showing to begin with..
