Hey peedi, question for you since you seem to be on the up and up with the new series'. I see that in the current Marvel Now comics Captain America is in The Avengers, Uncanny Avengers, and All-New Invaders, plus his own solo title. How do they reconcile continuity-wise him being on so many teams simultaneously?

hahahahahahahaha.

No, but seriously, for like the first year of his solo book he was out of the time stream completely and only like an hour had passed in the regular universe. I guess that's one way around it.

Okay, so how do they explain him being on three different super teams?

They don't really. Lot's of characters are in multiple books these days.

It's kind of a running gag with Wolverine though. Bendis used to really take it out on him being everywhere.

Well I guess that makes it easier to just stick to one series then as opposed to being forced to buy all three to see how he spends the other hours of each day. :lol

A great middle man is Marvel Unlimited. Read anything you want for a crazy good rate.

Ha ha, I see some others have chimed in on this and they are correct, eventually the order of events between appearances just works itself out, but on a monthly basis there is no explanation.

In the books I read Cap is indeed doing different things in different places but when those stories are done they will more or less fit into a chronology. Example, in Uncanny Avengers Cap has made a passing reference to events from earlier in the current volume of his own comic (the event that exodus mentioned), but makes no reference to the current events in his comic. From that you can kind of guess what order things happened in. Plus much of what happens in Uncanny Avengers might be a day or so for one story, a day or so for the next story, so it becomes easier to imagine that the stories from other comics can happen in between.

But any comic universe with a long standing history is bound to be full of contradictions that can't possibly add up, and Marvel has tons. Characters dying and popping back with no explanation is common place. Even DC's New 52 has numerous errors and it's like a 2 year old universe. That's just what happens when you have different writers writing the same characters.

Thanks. I get that comics have always told overlapping stories that don't always sync up but I don't recall Cap ever being on three teams before. Avengers, yes, solo, yes, but not three at once plus solo.

Anyway can you tell me what's going on with his involvement in the Avengers right now? Did he leave to join the All-New Invaders? It looks like the Avengers are back to their very original roster.
