Yea, this is nice but I'm never selling my classic cap PF. I actually prefer XM's cap to this one to be honest. But, you really can't go wrong with any of them...assuming the QC and paints apps on this cap turn out great...course, thats a big "if" lately...

Yea, I think that's pretty much the general opinion of most collectors in that you can't go wrong with any of them but I'm wondering which of all the Captain America statues would be the definitive Cap? :dunno

:lol :lol :lecture

Don't do it Andy. I did it and regretted it big time & that was the Reg

You will probably never be able to get it back again either

I'm getting the new PF & XM CA but I still think you own the best one

Do you reckon Steve? I do love this new Cap PF cos I love a dynamic pose ;) i can see myself favouring the new one :horror

I do too. I love the original premium format's physique, but it's too big. Idk. Being a cap fan I would absolutely love to own it, but there is no way in hell I'm paying those prices.

I agree, don't do it. I did a few years ago, and I still haven't forgiven myself.

Fortune favors the bold. There is an art to being a collector...its knowing when to sell the old stuff for higher prices to get new items. If new versions come out that everyone loves the price will naturally start to fall over time and you either lose profit or get stuck holding on to him. Sure its not bad to hold on but what if you have The original, Allied Charge and the XM version. Do you need all three? What if he turns out to be your least favorite. Odds are other collectors feel the same way and the value falls. I have seen this happen many times as a collector across multiple lines.

I have never owned the original PF, although I did have it ordered only to cancel it before it shipped. One of my earlier regrets collecting. :slap However, having just acquired the XM Cap - that is the one to have in my humble opinion. Classic comic look with a flag waving in the wing all in a beautiful sculpt with perfect paint. I'm looking forward to this one, but XM will be my Cap centerpiece.

Then have a dynamic CA and a museum version to :naughty

I'm having that CA of you if you do sell though ;)

:lol Steve, you'll have to have a dance off with Dhaval for that position! :rock

He is big Ty and I think that's why so many collectors will pay crazy prices for him. He was part of the old school statue generation of which are now considered as grails...but is that what makes this Cap so appealing because its so rare :dunno I dunno, I do think its a classic piece, the pose, the mixed media, the extra display options (shield, headsculpt, base) the weight, etc...

I guess i'll have to wait until I receive the new PF to make a final decision...that and the fact I wanna see Steve and Dhaval in a dance off, just might tempt me to sell!!! :rock :lol

Thanks buddy :) yea, I'm certainly gonna give it until the new PF arrives to make my decision

I'd do it Andy cos I'm balsy like that! :lol

:lol :lol nice one Andre :clap

Goodposting buddy...certainly some good points there :)

No doubting the XM Cap is a great piece but I'm actually one of those who aren't too keen on the headsculpt for that one and I'm also not a massive fan of statues holding flags either :( just a personal thing ;) hence why I still have to get rid of my Classic Iron Man Comiquette :slap

I sold my original Cap Ex to a Freak and I don't regret it. :wave

Loser

I just think if I was a collector when the originals first came out Itd be a different story. But now that I see the level of detail they can get in the statues now, the originals look flat to me...

Yep. Imagine if SSC released the original PF *right now* for a retail price of $1500. People would laugh at the insanity. Yet those who are keeping him in their collections are denying themselves that very same 1500. Cap rules but I'm not going to deny myself that kind of cash just so I can have a 20 inch statue of him.

That's why I kind of hate it when statues shoot up that much, even if they are ones that I own. It makes me feel stupid to keep them. I like that my Frodo and TFA PF's are still right around retail. I can liquidate them if I ever get desperate but at the same time I'm not foolishly denying myself buckets of cash by keeping them.

I agree. The prices make me laugh. I can't help but pity the fools that pay those ridiculous prices for statues that cost $300 when they were released. Same with the instant price hike after sellout on statues like superman ex and batman ex.

It is what it is. An item is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I once explored commissioning a Batman.... um yeah no ($$$$)
