Group pics , ss had made statues worse and worse in the past few years.
So excited to finally get a Cap statue! With the way this was turning out I knew I had a winner.
Such a dismal 2014 with SS so far. 8 orders shipped and most have had problems.
- Batman: cracked cape, damaged belt, but got replacements. After replacements, a Winner.
- Punisher: excellent! No issues at all. Another winner, right out of the box!
- Black Widow: some of you saw that huge glob of paint in between the breasts on mine, and the googly eyes. SSC replaced the whole body, but the replacement had a lot of dangling threads on the cloth. I settled since the eyes and breasts were good.
- Harley Quinn: another cross eyed chick, I didn't contact SS, I just settled with her eyes not being in the same direction since the rest of it was fine.
- Apoc: mine was rather decent compared to others. SSC replaced my rusted cables but I took a credit for the missing paint spots.
- JSC Spidey: considering the entire sculpt was altered, baited and switched, it at least had no real QC issues for me given none of them turned out close to the proto. Not quite a winner because of the switch, but certainly not a dud.
- Superman: after waiting extra months and seeing so many others get a statue they called perfect, of course my the base came with a small chip. I was sent a replacement base that didn't fit the statue, so I kept the chipped base and a got a credit which I applied to this Cap...
Surely my luck would run better with this Cap, right?
Nope.
I was quite happy as I unpacked my Cap but my high came down when I lifted the gun out of the box. Any bit of excitement I have is gone. The Ex, the reason for ordering directly from SS instead of cheaper somewhere else, is broken. I'll request a replacement but apparently there are none already. So disappointed. I know things will happen but I don't want a house full of misfit statues because SSC sends the problem statues to me.
I know there's collectors who've had no issues with SS and I hope you continue to fare well but based on my experiences this year I have very little faith left for SSC. I should just expect issues. Out of 8 statues this year 6 had issues. Granted SSC remedied some of them (Batman) but I settle too often.
Bring on the XM Phoenix.

So finally got a respond from SS. They are offering me 60$ credit. Yeah right... like that's gonna do it. I emailed them back and got another email right after saying they won't be back in office before dec 1st ??? They got 5 days weekends ever there ? wtf ??

Why I am not surprise with QC ?
I have a similar issue but not as bad as this, that's why I was requesting pics a couple of days back at that section you just posted. Luckily I could pull the pants up so this defect isn't visible but yeah... I know it's there...
Since I have a nice amount of statues, particularly older ones that are about or near flawless or as good as it gets, all I can do is be thankful that prior to this year I was getting a greater amount of issue-free pieces, or at least very minor issues. It just sucks that as a relative late comer who missed characters I love like Cap, I'm finally getting the chance to get them and they show up with problems.
But don't let me spoil your fun. My issue is my issue. Thanks for the consideration but you have a right to be happy and post about it.
