Really unfortunate. The quality issues do seem few though, despite the exclusive thompson handle breaking.

The way I look at it, at $400 every statue should be near flawless... I can understand a broken leg, UPS/USPS/FedEx probably dropped it, but when it comes to poor paint apps and torn clothing there really is no excuse it's just poor QC.... But in the end what are you going to do if you really like the character, it's either pass or roll the dice and pray you get a good one... I've only got 4 statues left with SS, Wonder Woman, Catwoman, Batgirl and Power Girl... I'm hoping for a win streak here

I feel for fellow collectors when they receive broken statues.
I consider myself incredibly lucky that it's been about six years since I've had any problems with a statue.
Made it home from work through the winter storm here in the northeast. Picked up Cap from the UPS store ( Glad they were open late.)
Open the box and checked things out. Found everything prefect......EXCEPT!!
Will contact SS. On a positive note the break is clean, so it should be fixable.
Fully assembled Cap look outstanding. (I left the belt off for now to give him a more modern look.)

Here he is going into battle along with his women. ( I just like them together.)
The broken gun cannot damper my enthusiasm about this piece. His is outstanding! If you a Cap fan, pick this up now!

Oh I will now, no question. It was so funny. To be chatting about it here without realizing that he was on display just a few minutes down the road from my house. I walk into the comic shop and look up at their shelf full of PF's and I was all
"there it is!"
Yes really. Just do it already.
Seeing it in person with the belt I think I'd be inclined to leave it on even with a contemporary themed display. Cap's old fashioned. If he wants to wear a vintage belt against modern foes who's gonna tell him otherwise.

At the price we are paying, we shouldn't expect nothing less than a flawless piece(s) imo. I honestly don't get those people who say "well it happens", "deal it with", "it's barely visible", etc.
400$/500$ and you don't get what you paid for, no big deal right ? -sigh-

Some more for your viewing pleasure. My favorite part about this statue has to be the sculpting on the scales. Those are the result of some steady hands. Love the tailoring but I am still convinced we are one pouch short compared to the proto. I did reposition some of the items on the belt and all the weapons do come out!

Something I immediately noticed but was willing to overlook is the stripes on mine are off center. The red stripe should be right below the star, but it's too far to his left. I want to call this minor as it doesn't ruin the statue, but it's still wrong and I cant unsee it, especially looking at photos of other's statues. I really don't want to sound like the resident complainer...but I'm sent what im sent at the same time...im not looking for flaws, they're just there. I promise y'all, I'm not normally a nit picker, I don't think my history says I've been one.
Granted, none of them came out exactly how it was supposed to (the top of the middle red stripe meeting under the star, and the bottom of the the middle red stripe meeting the middle of the pants, twisting with his torso because fabric should stretch with your movements) but they generally turned out well enough to not nitpick that part of it.

It should have been made in two pieces (since that's the way it's a arriving anyway.)
