and sorry for the delay...okay, just a quick WIP teaser so far on the flag hand as that's the one you're all waiting on right?
Still in the early stages as the the flag needs to be weathered more and maybe i'll even have the ends of the flag synged maybe? Any suggestions/feedback would be cool Flag pole will be painted white with a gold tip.

Looks great.
I think a bit of singe on the edges and maybe a hole or two in the flag along with some dirt, that will look amazing. Can't wait for the other pics.

Leave the pole wood, but add the gold top. A white flagpole wouldn't look good or be accurate.
Yeah leave the flagpole wooden and change the gold ball into an eagle

I also agree it should remain a wooden pole with a golden top. It will marry up with the statue more. Maybe just apply a varnish to the timber to bring out its character and snap the bottom off leaving it raw

Now that I looked at it more, I have to agree with the others on leaving the pole wooden. White would look out of place IMO.

great feedback guys, much appreciated Cool, so agreed on the wooden pole...will also darken the look of the wood maybe or as a suggestion, how about a white pole BUT having the paint removed so you can see the wood left behind? Also agreed that the eagle on top of the flag would look cheesy so definately keeping it as is

I personally think a plain grainy wood pole would fit the era of the piece better. But you could do it both ways to be honest. I just think the plain wood would be simpler, cheaper, and it would add another format/texture to the statue. But in the end, you are amazing and I trust what ever decision you go with.

Plain wood would look more authentic IMHO, am as for the eagle looking cheesy you are talking about a character who wears the American Flag...lol
