Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Just listened to the score for this. Winter Soldier's theme is damn scary, reminded me of Joker's from TDK. Bring it on!

Speaking of Batman which story come out first the Red hood or the winter solider . I would say they have a lot in common

Winter solider is awesome but I think red hood with jason todd comming back from the dead was an excellent twist

The superboy prime thing? I thought that was awful.

Technically, The Winter Soldier, as a character, predates the second iteration of The Red Hood. With that being said, he wasn't yet known to be
Bucky Barnes
, and, with that being said, his introduction only predates The Red Hood's by one month, with TWS premiering in Cap #1 in January of 2005, and The Red Hood premiering in Batman #635 in February of 2005. So, not dissimilar to the Swamp Thing/Man-Thing conundrum, it's too close to call, so, neither character, most likely, ripped off the other.

I did think the soundtrack on the boat was also very Nolan/Zimmer-esque. I liked the TDK soundtrack for what it was, and if something similar works for this story, then great. Not like there is much new under the sun in this department. The score is going to be stealing from something else, one way or the other.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Man I must be the only one who thought TIH enjoyable. The Harlem fight scene was just great onscreen. Ah well.

Nope. Count me in on that too. I enjoy watching that movie.

What would be perfect is if Marvel could superimpose the Ruffalo Hulk into all those scenes. It would help bring TIH into the fold more. It's kinda the step child of the MCU.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

It's been several years since I've seen TIH and everyone always claims it's crap, but I remember enjoying it.

I liked the fact that it was darker and had more of that serious "Bourne" vibe going on rather than the comedic cheesiness of the other Avengers films. Especially in the beginning when he's in Brazil (or wherever).

So far I think Cap 2 looks closer to that tone than any of the other Avengers films have been.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

I really enjoyed TIH

I didn't realise there was any hate on it. But then that's incredibly naive to think that any film escapes hate entirely

But yeah, I liked how they handled the whole super soldier serum and worked it in, just a shame that either Norton didn't come back, or that the just didn't cast Ruffalo in the first place

Either way, I really enjoyed it

Don't mistake thinking it's at the bottom of the list of Marvel Studios films as "hate." It just means that out of everything Marvel Studios has released, TIH seems to sit in last place with the majority.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

I also liked TIH quite a bit, and I rank it somewhere in the middle of their films personally. But I can get why folks might not feel similarly. Despite the significant increase in straightforward storytelling and action from Lee's Hulk, it still has a lot more non-humorous drama than the other Marvel films, and is really among the most unconventional IMO, because of the nature of the Hulk (a genuine anti-hero) and a conflicted, lonely Banner. He's not the up-beat, often wise-cracking and optimistic hero we see in the other films. But I haven't watched it in a couple of years. I should probably give it another viewing soon.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Not gonna watch it. I'm going to see that movie no matter what, so I'll try not to have much more spoiled than already has been.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Marketing overkill :lol I just hope that story is as good as action.

Was thinking about Red Skull.
Even tho Weaving doesn't want to reprise the role he's still signed for multiples and now is the perfect opportunity to use it.

Arrrgh! Too nervous to sleep today...
