You can bet Marvel does. In both 2011 and 2014 Cap went up against X-Men and both times the latter was more crtically well received than the former.

Winter Soldier and DOFP are like 0.02% points away from each other in terms of critical success.
You fellars make it hard to like X-Men movies when you try to inject it into every conversation! X-Men DOFP was good, who cares?!?

DOFP the most successful superhero film of the year when taking into account both, critical and financial success, yet Marvel fanboys still want to pretend like FoX-Men isn’t a major player in 2016.

Guardians of the Galaxy has better critical scores and it's theatrical run isn't even over, bro.
Marvel has made more of a profit in the long run this summer with their merchandise acquisitions + box office + double summer movies, bro.
Strike that, reverse it.
Not sure who is more ravenous, these phantom Marvel "fanboys" you speak of (there are fanboys for everything) or "teh Fox-Men" who act like there's some grave injustice that's been done for a film that's been extremely well received. There's no need to shout from the rafters to make it known that X-Men exists and had a great movie this year. The only gratification that should be sought is knowing you got a movie that you enjoyed.

Guardians and DOFP both are at 91% on RT
Obviously I’m talking about box office success since DOFP had barely any merchandising and I’m talking about individual results for the four superhero movies we got this year.
Guardians won’t pull ahead of DOFP, it’ll be lucky enough to end it’s run ahead of TWS, it’s currently only playing in China right now.
I don’t know how I’m screaming about any FoX-Men injustice, I was just reminding Khev that there is at least one superhero film coming 2016 that involves superheroes fighting villains.

Guardians has a higher score on metacrtic, imdb and other review outlets, even if it's petty and minuscule (like Cap and X-Men percentages).
Khev doesn't need to be reminded that another X-Men movie is coming and that they're fighting villains, he knows. Every day he PMs me about the X-Men and about how he's counting down the days until Bryan Singer's BTS production photos and the first trailer. I've seen more of Khev's Wolverine fan art than I'd care to. Trust me, he doesn't need to be reminded any more.

Actually isn't Apocalypse going to make Wolverine one of his "Horsemen" that will be forced to fight his teammates? Wolverine v. X-Men in 2016!
And I do agree that every time I start to buzz on DOFP kara or some other crazed X-Fan always seems to show up and taint it with their overpraise.

.....is this Marvel's answer to DC's big Justice League set-up movie? Did they get RDJ's Iron Man for Cap 3 to perhaps give them a slight edge on the box office as well? Seems kind of ironic that 2016 is now bringing some of these two companies' most popular superheroes fighting EACH OTHER.
There was the little issue about sharing the release date (which DC twitched first at). Now Marvel is pulling out a big gun by bringing Iron Man into Captain America 3.
