A mouthful of Singer.

Wait, this is not Gambitatum thread...

He looked odd in 21 jump street with longer hair, don't know how he's going to pull off a movie with long locks. It's like his head is literally so big, he's gotta have extremely short hair as to not look potato headed.

Redford would have been a great Cap. Superficially looks like the perfect "American" but has that intelligence and underlying skepticism toward power and politics in lots of his roles that could have come out and made him really shine.

Many artists over the years drew Steve to look just like Robert Redford's younger days, on purpose or accidentally, Redford just had 'the look'.

I can't see Redford beefing up for the role the way these modern guys have. I'm glad the films are being done now.

If Redford was young today, he could. He still in shape for an 80 year old. He was in good shape at age 65 when he did The Last Castle (photo). I don't think there's anything special about today's modern actors, just lots of training with a personal trainer, good "supplements", and a diet. If Chris Pratt could do it for GODG, Redford can do it too.

Robert Redford or Kurt Russell were born in the wrong time. They had the perfect look for Capt America. Especially, Redford.

At least Redford got his part in CA franchise. I really liked his Alex Pierce.

What I'm saying is that it didn't happen in the 70's. It was unheard of. The best you got was Adam West and George Reeves. Reb Brown looked big enough but the final product was awful.

Oh yeah, that's why I said Redford was born in the wrong time. Most live action Marvel stuff in the 70's and 80's...even the 90's were awful. I'm glad these films are getting made now, but that means they have to use current actors, and that's not always a great thing. Some modern actors are serviceable...but not ideal. Example, Jackman as Wolverine and Evans as Capt. I think those guys are good, but not necessarily what I have in mind when I think about those characters
