Brace yourself for impact because the MCU is basically on cruise control now. Feige won't change the formula at this point. They're making too much money and the general audience is happily eating it all up.

Expect good, fun, entertaining movies. Just don't expect anything transcendent like TDK. At least not from the MCU.

Are there any complaints about Zemo?

I liked him a lot, they clearly set him up for a return and he will surely be wearing a cool outfit and mask. The fact that he was capable to bring down "an empire" from within and then was willing to kill himself when his work was done, tells me how strong his resolve is, he really is one to be afraid of.

Yeah, he wasn't a one dimensional villain who wants world domination or to destroy the human race. His motivation was simple, because he's driven by anger and revenge, but it was handled well because he's a quality actor, and the story focuses on the heroes, not the villain "stealing" scenes with long speeches and unnecessary displays of violence to show that he's "evil." He's not the typical MCU villain, and there's no mustache twirling moments or chewing the scenery either. I don't consider him a great villain yet, but I see this film as the origin of a potential great MCU villain. He's a villain you might see in a different type of film, not a superhero movie. He's what Lex Luthor should have been like in BVS. Civil War not only gave us a better Superman in Steve Rogers, it gave us a better Lex Luthor, and their own version of Batman with Black Panther.

Which is sad since lex and superman are more well known.

I thought he was bland and forgettable. His motive originated from a movie I found to be horrible (AOU) and almost everything he was able to do felt way too convenient as if he can predict the future or got lucky due to other peoples negligence. His plan felt half baked to me. Bruhl was fine, it was a average performance that almost any German actor could have done in my opinion. I don't think BvS is a good movie, and I thought Lex's role in the movie was one of its biggest problems, but in terms of acting and what they wanted to do, I thought Eisenberg did a far better acting job that Bruhl did except for the really extremely cheeses scenes he was forced to do.

The way I can describe the movie is that it was cool, a lot of cool things happened in it, but it lacks almost all of the ingredients that make a great film.

You sure you saw civil war?

Sorry preferred BvS by far- it was good but not really something that gripped me like WS did- so I rate it below WS. The end fight with Cap and Tony was the best fight because Tony wanted to really get to Bucky and you felt that emotion in him but all the fights up to that....great staging but empty as far as reasoning to carry them out totally.
Spidey felt shoehorned in- that scene in his apartment when he is first introduced was like- huh?

I agree- great to watch but left no impact on me at all.....

Yea twice, once bootleg and once in the theater, and I enjoyed it :lol

For me, it was the 3rd best MCU movie to date, only behind Winter Soldier and Iron Man. I thought it was very entertaining, and as a superhero movie its good, but judging just as a film it's nothing special at all. There's just so many cliches, average to mediocre acting and terrible humor that I just can't give this and most of the MCU movies anything more than a 7. Only Iron Man I consider to be a great superhero movie and a really good movie.

You just described The Joker in TDK :lol

No doubt Joker predicted the future once or twice but Ledger gave the best performance I might have ever seen in my life, his motive made sense and as crazy as he was most people left that movie understanding where he came from, and the last trick he had up his sleeve was actually showing he was wrong about Gotham. But he always had contingencies set and that's one of the few comic booky things that happened in TDK.

The only scene I really remember as being way over the top was him at jail. That entire scene was predicting the future and negligence at its finest :lol

I enjoyed the film but would probably rate Winter Soldier higher. I feel like that movie was more independent than another Avengers set up film. I enjoy the solo films because it really gives the main character and their supporting characters the time to shine. Bucky did shine in this film but I could've used more Sharon, Falcon and Crossbones. Hopefully we will get that in film one day but I doubt Evans will do another solo Cap film. It sucks that they changed the Cap 3 script to Civil War only because of Batman v Superman.

Black Panther and Spidey were great additions and I really enjoyed both characters and am looking forward to their solo films. I thought Zemo was an OK villain and better than a lot of the other Marvel baddies, but was wasted unless they do him justice in a future film.

I'm just happy that the complaints died down of Stark bringing Spidey into battle making no sense because the mother complained of her young son's death.

It was a silly complaint.

Spidey has super human strength, he belonged in battle more than some adults that were present.

:lol

After my first viewing of Civil War I think I'd have to say I liked The Winter Soldier better.

Avengers, TWS, IM, then CW for me.

Saw the movie last night, enjoyed it very much but Guardians still remains as my favorite Marvel movie.

Spider-Man and Ant-Man were highlights for me. Black Panther was cool.

I know the whole point was "civil war" but i felt like the movie lacked a villain. Zemo was ok but really didn't have a huge villain vibe for me.
There has not been one Villain in the entire marvel movie universe that is worthy of mention , and maybe there will never be , and you know why it's because of the family friendly tone these movies have . If you want carnage you need to Ruthless and they can not do that .

I want to see what they do with Thanos because as it stands now he will be nothing more then a purple hulk

Just got back. I thought it was alright. Better than Age of Ultron but not as good as Winter Soldier. But man was I sick of being transported from location to location with the transition establishing text thing like "Berlin" or whatever. Way too many jumps from scene to scene and location to location. Reminded me of the beginning of Batman v Superman. We're here, now we're here, now we're over here.

Thought Ant-Man was the one that stole the show. Loved seeing all of his new abilities and the banter. Giant Man was awesome (didn't like the slow moving lumbering brute cliche for him though). The evolution of the relationship formed in Winter Soldier between Captain America, Bucky and The Falcon were great. I'd love to see a movie where Cap and Bucky go on a mission or something. We get glimpses of this in First Avenger and Civil War, but it doesn't feel like enough. Evans and Stan have pretty good chemistry, their friendship seems sincere and that's been shown really well in all three movies I think.

Spider-Man did absolutely nothing for me. His parts are good on their own, don't get me wrong, it's not a bad Spidey, but it just didn't feel right having him thrown into here. It was extremely jarring to just be thrust into Queens and have Peter Parker shoehorned into this world (just like Wonder Woman and the Justice League). What is Stark doing? That kid dies so he goes out and recruits a random super powered kid that could be killed or hurt in this airport scuffle? It doesn't feel natural and Stark being so involved felt contrived. Spider-Man's design looks great and I liked the interaction with Captain America, but he looked like a straight up video game character. He looked fake in pretty much every shot, even just standing there. I liked Holland and Tomei though.

The CGI was pretty crappy throughout the movie, especially those helicopter shots. The floating head of Tony in the Iron Man suit was pretty bad and that scene where it's raining against the window of helicopter. The best CGI shot that impressed the hell out of me was the young Tony Stark. I thought that was absolutely amazing. He looked just like the Robert Downey Jr. of the 80s/90s.

Didn't mind Baron Zemo at all. I was having trouble following his plan and reasoning at the end (his family was killed off in AoU, give me a break), but I thought Bruhl did a fantastic job. Not as good as Redford's Alexander Pierce, but still a decent villain. I just had a tough time with his motivation and wanting the Avengers to fight. So many strong parallels to Batman v Superman.

Oh and the ending kinda sucked. I thought Steve's letter to Tony was a mistake. It completely negates the two hours of the movie when they were just beating the **** out of each other two scenes before. So that's it, all is well? Another Marvel movie where there is pretty much zero at stake, all the characters beat the **** out of each other, no major deaths and no real climax. I liked the endings for Avengers and Winter Soldier more. They felt like they had actual endings. Should have left Cap's team in prison and had Tony still fueding with Steve.

So yeah, it was pretty good. I'm sick of superhero movies personally though. It's all the same **** to me. Onwards and upwards to Infinity Wars I guess.
