I wonder if Ross could've been used to fullfill Zemo's roll in the movie.

No Zemo needed, just have Ross be the villain trying to turn Avengers against each other by being the one telling Stark about his parents. Would've changed the whole dynamics of WS needing to be caught though, but at least the EMP device would've no longer been required. :lol

I did like that BW releasing all the files in TWS was used to support Zemo's plot.

The opening fight with Crossbones and BW fight stuff was the best in the film- I thought the airport battle was meh bordering on too comical for the rest of the film

Maybe I was expecting a little more from this one but I left feeling underwhelmed. There were certain moments that I enjoyed - the airport battle, the final battle and Ant-man's scenes - but I just wasn't feeling this one. I believe part of the problem, for me, is that I've been desensitized to these "epic" superhero battles. Before Marvel movies exploded into theaters, the occasional superhero movie was akin to a "treat" intermixed with the regular slew of comedies, dramas, action flicks, etc. in theaters. And like treats, having too many removes the uniqueness and the subsequent pleasure associated with them. Heck, I got tired of Transformers after the sequel!

I agree- amazing stuff in these doesn't feel so amazing now after you've seen it in several prior films

I thought it was a fantastic film, very well done, great story, great acting. I loved the love-hate relationship between Sam and Bucky, and I loved how they showed Spidey's strength when he caught Bucky's metal arm punch without even flinching. It feel it's obvious that Zemo took the serum out of the other WS and then killed them all. Now he either saved it for later or injected himself with it. Cap did mention he had a couple hours head start before they got there so he could have done through the process of the serum working. We'll see I guess.

But then why would he try to committ suicide? Black Panther could have easily watched him do it.

Posted way back in April, 2014:

I have a hard time believing that a "Death of Cap" story would work for the next film. We've basically seen two Cap movies now where he makes a heart tugging "sacrifice play" at the end. To end a third movie with people weepy (in and out of the film) over Cap's fate might be a bit much.

Russos = :rock

Me too. I can't believe that people have said that it doesn't feel like a Captain America movie when it directly follows on from TWS and features Cap's most iconic villain.

Not sure if you mean Crossbones or Zemo but neither is on the level of the Red Skull.

I'm guessing it's because he knew BP wouldn't let him do it and he wanted to get captured and imprisoned. He gave him that bs story about his father to play to his compassion after BP lost his own father.

I went back and watched Iron Man 2 and still a very meh movie but I love Stark and Rhodey's scenes together. I appreciate it even more after Civil War. Justin Hammer was an interesting rival as well...I thought he was one of marvels better villains if he counts.

And each time I watch the civil war movie I always forget that Panther really was about to cut Bucky's throat in cold blood right before Scarlet Witch sent him flying through the terminal lol. Everyone else is pinning each other down or leaving people tied up and the new guy almost gutted Bucky lolol

'Captain America: Civil War' conquers box office again with $72.6M

The A-list money team-up of George Clooney andJulia Roberts couldn't foil the monster duo of Captain America and Iron Man.The superhero blockbuster Captain America: Civil War conquered all at the box office for a second weekend in a row, pulling in $72.6 million and running its domestic total to $295.9 million.

Globally, Civil War zoomed past $940 million, making it the third consecutive Disney release this year (after Zootopia and The Jungle Book) to surpass $800 million. It also helped the Marvel Cinematic Universe to reach a combined $10 billion in eight years from 13 movies

Wow, it already made more than BVS :lol

1. There's too much to Stark's side of the plot, it even outweighs Cap's side by the end
2. While the character's name is Zemo he's not the son of the Baron, wasn't even born in Germany

That was unavoidable really, given that they didn't want it to be one sided.

Lex Luthor in BvS isn't really Lex Luthor, he's Lex Luthor Jr. Splitting hairs.

question for those that know the comics, I keep hearing people refer to Zemo as Baron Zemo,
but it's stated in the film that his name is Helmut Zemo, is Baron a code name that he has when he puts the suit on or something?
