Snyderman never uses his X Ray vision...for some reason :lol

It's so ridiculous. That was a key part in the actual DKR book and it would've worked great. Maybe it's different in the Ultimate Cut.

Another cool thing I noticed while watching IM1 again is that Cap's defeat of Tony is very similar to how Tony defeated Stane.

1. Take away enemy's power of flight
2. Take away enemy's targeting
3. Have a buddy help you destroy an arc reactor

Stark lived long enough to become his own original "villain" so to speak.

:lol I thoroughly enjoyed BvS but damn if the criticism against the film isn't freaking funny. :lol

Glad you enjoyed it. :hi5:

Are you referring to Pepper as the buddy?

This article perfectly in capitulates why I loved black panther!

That was pretty funny. I'm not sure BP escaped quip free like the article suggests. I think he just delivered his lines so cool that it didn't seem like a quip.

I was on Tony Stark's side, especially by the end of the film. Capt's politics bored me. His demeanor was that of a pouting child.

Yeah, I can see your point there, but I was still on Cap's side.

So Khev, you do realise that you are equating Pepper Potts to Bucky. That's dangerous territory man, especially with the lonely sjw trying to make Cap and Bucky soulmates.

Eh, this nutso world would do that regardless. Cap has always been into ladies, the Russos even went on record as saying that as far as they are concerned Cap and Bucky are effectivly "brothers," etc. I still thought the final duel of each film had cool parallels with one another. :)

I've been looking through my collection and skimming some issues and, to my surprise, I have the Captain America issue where Crossbones and Cap first fight. I guess because it isn't his first appearance I never gave it any extra attention. Actually geeking out a bit over this right here

As did I:

I actually just reread The Bloodstone Hunt (where Crossbones makes his first appearance as a character) this past week and got a kick out of being reminded that during Cap and 'Bones first scuffle Crossbones tries to kill Cap with a hidden blade that pops out of his gauntlet. So cool that the Russos put that in the film.

:D

Yeah, when I saw it I was thinking "I know somebody mentioned Crossbones' blade in the thread before". :hi5:

Nice little Easter egg there for comic fans.

I know! :rock

Do you have the issues or a TPB?

Both. :) Issue 364 that you scanned actually has one of my favorite Kieron Dwyer Cap covers. I also thought it was cool that the Russos kept the theme of Crossbones making short work of Cap's female partner with Black Widow taking the place of Diamondback in the film.

Does it take Scarlet Witch to come in and save Capt?

No, in the panels right below those Cap uses his other hand to smash Crossbones' face with his shield and then he takes him prisoner. The Russos combined that scene from Mark Gruenwald's run with a moment from Brubaker's Winter Soldier comics where Crossbones does indeed make Cap freeze up by mentioning Bucky and then they combined THAT with the first few pages of Mark Millar's Civil War miniseries where an explosion kills a number of civilians. The opening action sequence of the film referenced quite a range of Cap comics.

Another thing I realized after watching both CA:TFA and IM1 again in the last few weeks is how well the MCU "plays" if you watch TFA first then Iron Man. If you go in chronological order by the years in the movies then you've got Cap doing his thing from 1942 to 1945, are introduced to Howard Stark, then Cap wakes up in the "present" and meets Nick Fury. Then while in the present skip over to see where the Stark family is now and follow Tony's story. When he meets Fury at the end who says "you think you're the only superhero in the world?" it plays like he's referencing Cap (the "first avenger" of the Avenger Initiative.) Then continue on with the rest of the MCU as normal.

Now with Silvestri coming back to do IW 1 and 2 we'll have an MCU that begins and ends with a Silvestri score.

Great idea khev, it will also serve to improve his dad scenes from IM2, making it more poignant.

I was not aware that Silvestri was returning. :rock

I like the roof top battle with Cap and BW but I can see why it was cut, but I like him asking her if she has her gear on her before throwing her off the roof. :lol

They should've kept Ant-Man on his flying insect though.

A cool victory of sorts for Tony was blasting Bucky's arm off. It was the instrument that finished off both his mom and dad after all and I like that going forward he'll never have to look at it and think "those were the metal fingers that strangled my mom." Also funny that "mom in peril" was an element of conflict in both BvS and CW.
