Re: The First Avenger: Captain America Discussion Thread

Yeah, you're right about that. I remember when Thor was announced and the first pics of him were shown... there was so much negativity about it... I guess it showed them.

Hopefully Cap will do the same! :rock :rock :rock

With the early good word spreading about the movie already and the amount of people clamoring for an Evans head-sculpt on the HT figure, I'd say we're well on our way:hi5:

Re: The First Avenger: Captain America Discussion Thread

Anyone know a place that sells movie posters? I wanna get the ones from this film. Thanks.

Re: The First Avenger: Captain America Discussion Thread

That explains the Hot Toys problem. Apparently Evans doesn't even look like Evans.

Re: The First Avenger: Captain America Discussion Thread

Damn! That was pretty impressive. Gave me goosebumps.

Re: The First Avenger: Captain America Discussion Thread

Holy cow, what a trailer! I can't wait to see this movie. I just loved that moment when he threw himself on the grenade to protect his fellow soldiers--really shows his character. If the movie lives up to this trailer, it's going to be incredible.

Re: The First Avenger: Captain America Discussion Thread

As far as characters go... the Cap character is INFINITELY the best and most likeable of the Avengers. Tony's witty but smarmy. THor is arrogant and entitled. Steve Rogers is just a pure hero

Re: The First Avenger: Captain America Discussion Thread

Just the little snippets we got in those two and half minutes show him to be a very endearing and appealing hero.

"There are men laying down their lives--I've got no right to do any less than them." So says the 90 pound asthmatic "kid from Brooklyn" willing to sacrifice his life to protect others. You just instinctively root for a character like this. "Not just a soldier, but a good man." I love the guy already.

At one point he says "i don't know if I can do this" even after he's been giving the serum. Also, the fact that the super soldier program is destroyed after he's made and the fact that Tommy Lee's character seems to regard him with disdain also make him rootable
