She was reprimanded by Disney. The video is pretty telling. At 1:15, she begins to express how stressful keeping her identity as Captain Marvel a secret was.
Jimmy said that if production began, what were they going to do? Fire her? Brie adds her anecdote about a similar conversation with Samuel about how she was so stressed and worried about being in trouble and SLJ said, "What are they going to do? Fire you right before the premiere?"
Right before the premiere? That suggests that the conversation happened very recently to mention the the premiere. What was she stressed and worried about being trouble about before the premiere? Revealing the secret she's Captain Marvel?
Maybe that’s why Katheryn Winnick was there. Big D pulled Brie aside and said “If you don’t stop messing with the money girl, I have one word for you. REPLACEMENT! And she is standing right over there!”
Heres a harsh truth regardless of which side of the bread your butter is on.....
I can thing of dozens of woman who would have made a better CM than BL.
I think most of us can agree on that.
I always like to think of actors that would have been better fit, some of these might have actually been in reach...
BL is the worst casting choice since Ruffalo...

Natalie Dormer would have definitely been more appealing but she was already in Cap:TFA.

You guys.... I think Bree Larson will kill it. Haven't even watched the movie and already pretending to know more than you guys do. Watch the film before you make an opinion. 
I won't say it.
Ruffalo was good in the first Avengers film. At least the character was written well.
As for the 4 above. Charlize Theron is a great pick... The other 3.... Eek... Not my kinda girls at all... Especially eye brows at the bottom and the 3rd one.

Geez Charlize looks good as the Captain. Lol at the 1st duckface actress.
I like her when she is in films but not a huge fan of her look. But she would be my 2nd choice of the ones that have been mentioned.

I was stunned that Bree won an Oscar. Man she doesn’t radiate that level of talent, then again the Oscars have become social experiment of late. She should be grateful she got it before the racial quota system kicked in.

OH hell no... As bad as Brie is, they are way worse!! Natalie Dormer just doesn't look the part. Charlize is great, but she's getting a bit old and weathered. She's 43. And those last 2 are terrible actors.
Emily Blunt would've been great. Just watch Edge Of Tomorrow for a glimpse of how awesome. But I don't think she'd be interested in the roll. Plus Disney wants to make 50 Mary Poppins movies with her..
Yvonne could've worked as well. But still not sure how good she'd be.
