Kinda like that, yeah :rotfl

Did anyone see it yet?
I did and I want to know if that was
Stephen King as the janitor cleaning the graffiti off the lockers?

It's not a remake it's a new adaptation.

Not from what I have been reading. Sounds like more of a remake of the first film then it is a new adaptation of the book.

The scene in the trailer that shows the town destroyed and Carrie walking down the street (a scene right from the book) is nowhere to be seen in the actual film. Just like the original film this movie's climax is the prom.

Completely killed any desire I had to go see this film.

Hollywood just can't think of anything new... enough of the goddamn remakes already.

Is not Hollywood, It's US. WE are the problem.

People are stupid, People are dumb and they won't see a new movie unless they see a familiar name on the title.
I think the problem is that studios are afraid their movies are tanking,
Then when you have a recognizable name that movie will make money actually.

that's why something like Total Recall will get greenlit instead of some obscure Sci fi movie, because people would rather watch that having some knowledge of it than to watch something new.

There are so many examples of new movies doing poorly...
but, people are dumb so what can you do.

Ugh, I didn't expect it to suck so bad. I knew it wasn't going to hold up to the original but I was at least expecting it to be entertaining. It was a waste of money, glad I saw "Gravity" the same night, which was totally worth watching.... :clap

But TV is turning into gold. :yess:

plus Tv is WAY Better for telling a story, So much better.

Try to imagine breaking bad being a movie... a 2 hour movie... Even if it had 2 more sequels, movie are so restricting.

I don't really understand why movies get more praise and people invest in them more when TV is better in that aspect. People get to tell a story and take as long as they need.

I've always wished that Harry Potter was a TV show instead of the movies. There is so much to cover, Imagine seeing it as a show. I think it would be amazing.

Imagine something like the Walking Dead as a movie, it just wouldn't work.

With the dirty hippy look back in full swing and incest ridden churches like Westboro showcasing religious nutbags, did the original even need a remake? :dunno

caught up with it today. MEEEEEEH. to think they could do the book more justice, nucking futs.

vajayjay hand grab? really? :gah:

:slap

chloe's too cute to be carrie. was hoping they'd be more faithful to the book, didn't even give us more body count. sheeesh

on a positive note, julianne moore was great as the fundie nutjub mom.

well the excuse I keep hearing about Chloe being too cute is that "King never really describes Carrie as ugly in the book" Or something like that.
I've never read it, so I can't comment on that, but whenever Chloe's look get brought up at IMDB, the people defending the movie will argue that she is not even supposed to be ugly or anything like that.

I saw this at the dvd store. Just can't bring myself to rent it. Book was good when I read it, but just isn't strong enough to warrant multiple versions of the same story, IMO

The new version is a great adaptation. Chloe's superb in the role, and her telekenetic rampage at the end is quite something. If it's not too much trouble, give it a rent at least.

It's funny how the good movies get remade all the time even if they are perfect or close to being perfect and still relevant, but the ones that do need a remake to fix some things or just really need an upgrade, rarely get remakes :slap:

At least this one wasn't super bad, it was quite enjoyable imo, thanks to Chloe Moretz and Julian Moore.
