Sadly I gave up on Castle this season. Unintentionally at first, since my DVR just decided on its own to stop recording it. I was thinking about it, but the DVR made my mind up for me! Anyway, the sentient DVR felt I should at least watch the season finale and recorded it for me. I watched most of it and it's still pretty fun, light watching (I'll finish watching the episode tonight). But I just have so many other better shows that I have picked up that I just don't have time for this one, and frankly I don't feel it's a great loss, even though I love Fillion. It's a good show but I guess I have grown a bit bored of it.

BTW, I listened to two of the books (I think) and they were pretty good. Pretty close to watching an episode of Castle, except expanded story-wise and the characters are more sensationalized as you would expect from a pulpy trashy detective novel.

I still enjoy this show as much as a repetitive "killer of the week" show can be. It's probably the best of its kind. Although this season was off it's game a little.
And I have to say the "cliff hanger" was pretty lame considering right after it cut to black it immediately went into the "Castle and Beckett will be back next season" announcement.

The episode before the finale was stronger than the finale.

I missed most of season 6 and to me the show kinda lost a bit of steam towards the end of season 5
when they got together.

Thankfully it seemed to gain back momentum in season 6 because I was fiercely against the new direction. I think I should catch up on all the episodes this weekend.

I might as well go out and get the rest of the books too while I'm at it. :lol

Finished watching the season finale last night and it was clever how they resolved the situation. But the cliffhanger annoyed me to no end and I think it's one of the reasons I started getting tired of the show.
You KNOW nothing is going to happen to Castle. Even the voice over said that Becket and Castle will be back next season. But they still insist on having episodes where they are supposedly facing certain death but of course they manage to pull through. It's one thing to show them in trouble, but it's another when they try and manipulate the audience into thinking that this could really be it, or make the audience "think" that one of them is dead when you KNOW it's not gonna happen. Oh, and then add the flashback episode where they were making it seem like Becket was going to get blown up (again, knowing it will NEVER happen) with the bomb she was standing on, and they decide to show old clips?!?

So yeah, I like the show fine and I agree it's one of the better mystery cop killer of the week shows mostly because the leads are great and kinda fun, but maybe it's time for me to move on.
