Next time stamp in its head...just sayin'
In you are concerned I would see a doctor as soon as possible. Cat scratches can lead to bad infections and worse if left untreated (this is due to the dirt/grim/etc that gets stuck in their claws when covering up their business/scratching in dirt/sand that ends up being transferred into a human when they are scratched by a cat).
My boss got scratched by a cat, it ended up getting swollen and infected and she had to miss work because of it.
Sounds like that little kitten was in.. a cat fight.
Amputation might be the way to go.
What do I know...
Absolutely.
Is cat scratch fever real?
Absolutely.
Pu $$ ies! No pun intended! I was scratched many times by my cats and dog.. And I am fine. Yes, fine... define fine. hehe
I feed this stray cat....well, a kitten everyday. Yesterday, as I went to feed him, I had the bowl in my hands and just turned my back on him to answer a call, he clawed at me and nicked my index finger. It bled a bit and I drove that back-stabbin' critter away.
Is this thing serious? I remember a similar incident when I was young and I kept it from my folks. Though I cleansed it and got some antiseptic cream over it, the wound got worse later. My entire palm was swollen and an artery/vein leading from the wound to my forearm had reddened. Very painful. The doc said it had become infected and I shouldn't have let the wound get wet.
This time around too, I wet my hands unknowingly. Will it get infected? Will I die?
I too have been scratched many-a-times with no issue (*knock on wood*) but I have known two people in my life that almost died from cat scratches due to not getting attention right away when they noticed unsettling things happening to them soon after the scratching incidents.
You should see a doctor
Thanks guys. I will.See a doctor.
Thanks Alex. That sounds serious. In you are concerned I would see a doctor as soon as possible. If the attack was unprovoked, you need to lawyer up and take that cat to court
**** yeahYes. You are going to die.
A guy in his late twenties who has prior experience with a serious skin infection needs advice from people on a toy forum about whether or not to see a doctor because he might get another infection?
I'd heard of infected people developing a fear of water but I thought it was a myth.Definitely see a doctor. You don't want to get rabies, as very few people survive rabies once the symptoms appear.
Symptoms generally begin within a few days, and include fever and flu-like symptoms, such as loss of energy and headache. They then progress to include anxiety, impairment of normal activities, agitation, and insomnia. As in animal cases, some humans exhibit a fear of water, which is tied to the anxiety and paranoia.
In all likelihood, the cat doesn't have rabies, and just reacted as a stray might. But it's not worth your life! Get it checked out.
Nah man. I can't do that.Next time stamp in its head...just sayin'
Good for youPu $$ ies! No pun intended! I was scratched many times by my cats and dog.. And I am fine. Yes, fine... define fine. hehe
That's not funny....or..Amputation might be the way to go.
What do I know...
Will I get awesome powers? That or suicide to avoid the grotesque mutation that'll follow. I heard things.
"Tis merely a myth my good sir..................muhahahaha"
Awww damn. Just outta luck.Good luck. You won't die. I have known people that have had to get the MAJORS in IV antibiotics from skin wounds like yours and they're fine today. Cats are awesome but be cautious because they're still animals. I love cats, but my love for dogs trumps that. Get well soon.
Cats are so ******* ungrateful, for the most part.
