Cathode lightsabers - Would you buy?

Also, Sideshow hilts or Hasbro hilts? I ask because I'd rather not jack up an awesome SS saber, and Hasbros seem to be a bit oversized in the firstplace so I thought they might be easier to mess with.

If Sideshow won't offer lightup sabers, I think it would be awesome if they could at least sell the regular hilts separately so we can make our own customs.

While that's great for us customizers, there really is no sizable market here for Sideshow. They can't charge a lot (maybe $5-10) for lightsaber hilts so it really is not worth their time making a few bucks for 20-30 customizers who want to make cathode sabers.

I am not trying to be negative, just realistic.

Besides, use the Hasbro hilts, they are the right size to fit the cathodes. They are also cheaper and more readily available.

I can't imagine too many people who would want to take this on.

can I just go buy the hasbro hilts/sabers? or do I have to buy a figure it comes with?

you have to buy the figure but usually these can be found pretty cheaply on e-bay.

I've ordered some blue cathodes yesterday and I'll be trying to add them to Anakin's saber this weekend.

what type of blue cathod are you using? on ebay, the only ones I could find were pretty much for your computer case and for your car.

I think the demand would be larger than that. But would a Sideshow hilt even be thick enough? And I don't consider purchasing old Hasbro figures on ebay as "readily available".

I'm not interested in Hasbro figures. What am I going to do with Hasbro figures if all I want are their saber hilts? Is that really asking too much?

PLEASE !!!! I must have a tutorial or I'm going to go nuts. :monkey5 :monkey5

Ditto. A simple tutorial and I would go to town making sabers for as many of my Sideshow 1:6 Star Wars Figures as I could, maybe even one for my Medicon ROTJ Darth Vader. :monkey1

I think it would be alot of fun to do this if we had the instructions to do so.

But I'd be willing to spend some money on a few. $30-$40 would have to be my limit as well.

I'm looking forward to hurricane, Duckgoo or QQB making a double cathode saber for Maul when he ships!

Good Lord! Imagine a double cathode sword! Wowsa! :maul
You got your work cut out for that one guys!

And yes, I would buy a couple of swords made up...Vader and Obi Wan and Darth Maul and Palpatine for sure...maybe a Yoda if it was possible to get it all that small...but not every Jedi...that's too much anyway. I.m not interested in displaying a battle scene, just the primary players kicking some...:D

OH MY GOD

Like the Nazi said when the Ark was opened in Raiders of the Lost Ark, "It's Beeeutiful!"

Thanks for the link, how did I miss that thread?

Same here, I don't know how I missed it either. It even has somewhat confusing directions on the bottom on the thread to create your own. I'm going to try to decode this :) and try to do myself.

If the CCT could just be a bit more red, it would be perfect. Good color for Mace's saber though.
