Unless you count the thousands of dollars you spent building a droid:).

:lol True. But I'd manage to get one even without the R2 Builders thing anyway. OfficialPix volunteering alone would get you a Crew/Volunteer/Staff access. Or helping an artist on Artists Alley work their booth, etc. Tons of different ways to get access and participate. Just be imaginative and bold enough to ask. ;)

So can me and my kid join your R2 Crew ! :dance

If I knew for a fact that the wife and kids weren't coming, I would volunteer in a heart beat. Volunteering sounds like a great time, and even though it is "work", it would be around something I love.

So for now, I'm going after the Knight badge. If unsuccessful, I may have to use that money to pay off the wife for a couple of hours while I stand in line waiting for a ridiculously overpriced autograph. :lol

Wow, they actually found that many people still willing to spend the money on a Master badge knowing what they got last year. :lol
People have $ to burn and they want to fell special.

You should see what people pay to do get special entrance to clubs and stuff around here. Its even worse if a celeb is involved.

That's true. But there's also the fact that if it's Limited & Exclusive many Star Wars collectors will just have to have it... no matter how worthless it really is ultimately. I think it's a mental condition, actually. Someone should commission a study. I'm sure many who bought these passes can't even really afford or justify it financially... probably a lot of credit card debt underlining this stuff. Sad, really.

One guy on Rebelscum bought 2 of each. :horror

I think you just described 75% of the people in this hobby.

First off, I'm going to C6 and am going to have a good time surrounded by my friends and fellow SW fans.

However....

The ticket prices and so called 'VIP' packages are a f'n money grab. This is Lucasfilm & Reed Exhibitions smiling in our face while reaching into our pockets. The SW Official Site says:

"BIGGER, BETTER... AND ALL ABOUT YOU!"

...yeah, and our MONEY!

Rant over. For now.

And that really does give me pause. But I can't judge. I've been there myself a few years ago (having debt and letting my collection own me)... never again.

I hear ya. I had some cc debt issues in college, and it honestly wasn't even that much compared to other stories I've heard. Still, that was a lesson I learned a looong time ago and I hope I never have to carry CC debt again.

It's fun to ruffle feathers on Rebelscum sometime. ;) Man the SW diehards that are still knee deep into everything are so gullible and easy to rile up. :lol

Same here, and agreed. :duff These days, I carry only 1 actual credit card... and even that one I had purposely set to only a $500 limit (which I never let it reach). If I can't pay cash/debit for it, I don't get it.

Now... if I could just get out from under this house that has a mortgage that is about $75,000-$100,000 more than what it's now worth thanks to the market and the economy. :lol :impatient:
