One year to go! Awesome fury had to post 365 twice due to that pesky February 29th next year. I wish I was a leap day baby. I'd only be 9+ years old right now. :)

Anyways, good luck to all hoping to get exclusive badges. If it's something you're interested in... then go for it. :dance I do know a lot of those who got those badges last time made a chunk of their $$$ back by selling the badge itself on ebay after the show. I think the Jedi Master badges pulled in some decent coin from people who wanted full badge sets.

Same here, and agreed. :duff These days, I carry only 1 actual credit card... and even that one I had purposely set to only a $500 limit (which I never let it reach). If I can't pay cash/debit for it, I don't get it.

Now... if I could just get out from under this house that has a mortgage that is about $75,000-$100,000 more than what it's now worth thanks to the market and the economy. :lol :impatient:

Very cool, IJ! I had been strictly using my debit card for purchases until I had it stolen twice electronically :(
Chase locked up the account both times while investigating, so now I just carry one cc card that I use for all purchases, even our home bills. Makes it very easy to track our spending and budget and I don't have to worry about my cash getting wiped out by some crooks.

Yeah, I hear ya there! :lol

I was thinking I would be able to try and get hotel now, but it looks like I have to wait until next week. I thought it was start of trip had to be 365 days its the last night has to be 365 days out.

So, I was going to make a list of pros and cons to the VIP badge, of which only the Knight is available anyway, but that's okay, because that is the one I wanted anyway. I say wanted, because it seems like the cons are stacking up this morning, while reading all the sage advice here...

Pros:

1. No waiting and prime seats for the Celebrity Stage. My primary concern.

2. Line pass for three autographs. Not so keen on them anyway.

Cons:

1. Unlikely there will be other freaks to hang out with unless we can bring one friend along into the line passes.

2. Cost! I did just have to pay tuition, books ($400 alone), and need a new laptop for school...

3. No email with link yet, unless that general one I got a short while ago is it and the VIP page will just be activated at noon, PST.

4. No telling what celebrities will be there anyway.

I guess I could go on and on in the cons department, but as you can see I'm very heavily leaning toward not getting one now. If it were even possible. I'll probably keep the CC here next to the computer in case I have a change of heart at the very last minute, but for now it's become a "No."

Although I did have a thought. It might be advantageous to share the cost of the VIP badge with a fellow freak, say maybe a roommate, and then just split the time between the two. I guess that could pose issues with deciding on who got to be in front and line pass for which celebrity though...

So, yeah, I guess not.

Still, you get one of these: :panic:

And one of these because it is only one year! :fireworks

If I knew for a fact that the wife and kids weren't coming, I would volunteer in a heart beat. Volunteering sounds like a great time, and even though it is "work", it would be around something I love.

So for now, I'm going after the Knight badge. If unsuccessful, I may have to use that money to pay off the wife for a couple of hours while I stand in line waiting for a ridiculously overpriced autograph. :lol

Do you really think they are overpriced for the auto's ?

Hey Swabie if yuo need a volunteer hook me up ! :1-1:

$125 for Mark

$50 for Carrie

2 hour wait for Mark

1.5 hour wait for Carrie

I think I may be done with autographs, although, the memory of my Carrie Fisher autograph moment will live with me forever.

"Can I just have a ____ing cigarette before that?" :lol Priceless! :D

For me personally, yes. I've only paid for two auto's in my life, and I have over 300 (mostly sports but several other celebs, too). I'm shooting for the A-tier, so I know I'll have to pay a premium.

I would agree that those outside that A-tier are relatively cheap, though, especially considering the work and costs involved in getting all of those people to the convention.

I don't pay for auto's, either. And the thought of standing in line for hours to pay for one hurts my feelings. HOWEVER... I would probably wait in line for hours and pay about $250 for Harrison Ford. Good thing for my impatience that'll never happen. :lol

Ok, I am getting desperate. Any ideas on codes I can use to get a hotel at the Rosen !!!!!!! This is driving me nuts !

Harrison Fords.. IF he goes to Celebration, would be about $450, I bet.

Still no email with less than an hour and a half to go, unless I am mistaken and this one is the actual link without VIP badges available until the set time...

If they didn't charge for autos then it'd be like SW Weekends. A JILLION people lining up at 5:00 in the morning. No thanks. We're already paying large sums of money for tickets, parking, collectibles (airfare and hotels for some), etc. If it takes an extra 10 bucks to avoid a huge line for Jeremy Bulloch so be it.

Ray Park was 30 and I had one of the most entertaining conversations with him out of all the celebrities and a memory I'll enjoy forever. A small price to pay, IMO.

I know many don't particularly like young Boba, but I had an absolute blast meeting Daniel Logan and getting him to sully my Trevas print with his autograph.

I disliked Logan until CV. I didn't meet him but I saw how he interacted with fans. He was surprisingly cool. He'd jump around the table and run up to guys in Jango costumes exclaiming "Dad, you're alive!" :lol
