I have to agree-the smooth vest does look better than the fuzzy.Hope you didn't go through too much of the leather before getting it sorted out.:wink1:
If so let me know.I think a still have a piece or 2 that might be big enough i could send.

After we chatted yesterday,I was trying to visualise what you were saying regarding attaching Nabruns extra arms. The pic puts my mind at easy now, haha. He's coming along nicely.:yess:

I was a bit confused myself, but I got my head around it. mark did a much better job explaining himself in his tutorial. :)

I got the last arm attached to Nabrun Leids.

I just need to do a few touchups to the suit, paint the black stripes and hit a couple dull spots.

I then need to get gloves sorted out. Some pics I have seen show him wearing gloves with three fingers. Yet another challenge. :thud:

Thanks guys.

Well, I got sidetracked today. Chatting with Mark today got me fired up to finish my Hoth Stormtrooper, thanks Mark. :)

Anyways, I have never been happy with the boots so I decided to start there. I also dont like the Hasbro jumpsuit so I replaced it with a pair of Ignite toys Viking pants painted white.

I made the boot coverings out of the Hasbro suit, it worked pretty well since they are made of heavier material than the pants I decided to go with. This boot took about 2 hours. As Mark mentioned in his thread, Im going all out on this one. :)

Totally perfect man I love it I have been thinking the same thing but yours are spot on I you are gonna have to do a set by step for these mate!

Your boot's look great Chris!Very realistic.
I was thinking that they needed to be a little more bulky at first until seeing a pic Mark sent in a snowtrooper discusion we had.I could not recall when the last time I actually stared at a pic of snowtrooper boots.I have to admit that the initial thought was because of seeing the fat, chubby boots hasbro made for so many years.

Thanks guys. I also intially thought the boots were a bit bulkier/thicker. When I started looking at reference pictures I saw otherwise.

Here the pictures I have been going off on....

Cobbler huh? At the rate I am going very doubtful. :) They can be done, just a lot of work, I sure am glad I am only doing a couple of these.

The next problem I want to sort out is the mask.

I can't wait to see the whole snowtrooper, I think you may have a bunch of us scrambling to update out snowboots, LOL.
Nice job so far.

Thanks guys!

I think the main thing is to find a material that works well with the elastic. It needs to look baggy in some spots and tight in others.

The only part of the boot that is from an actual boot is the sole. I cut the soles off of a spare set of SSC Endor trooper boots. I glued the sole to the barefoot of the body. I then just build the boot up with cutup clothlike material. As I mentioned eariler, most of the material is coming from the Hasbro suit. Whats cool, is that the elastic in the Hasbro suit found at the bottom of the legs works well for the top part of the boots.

Here is a pic of where I am at on this guy...

I had a few requests for some step by step instructions on how I am doing these Snowtrooper boots. So here we go...

First I glued the foot to the sole of a SSC Endor trooper boot....

Then I take the bottom portion of the leg of the Hasbro Snowtrooper sut, flip it over and sleeve it over the pants you decide to use...

Chaka4102.jpg

Then take elastic, cut down to the width you like and wrap it around the top part of the boot. I use glue to get the elastic to stay in place.

I then cover the top of the foot with cloth and line the sole with leather strips to give the sole some form. I then take rubber gloves, cit the tips of the fingers off and place them over the "feet portion" of the boot.

Then I spray the entire boot with flat white paint.

Im not quite finished, but this where I am at right now. If anyone has any other questions or ideas let me know. Im not the best at doing step by step tutorials, so I hope I didnt confuse anybody. :)
