The thing to do would be to cast the RFT helm parts, that could be the base for both the gunner and the commander/naval helm.

Um, theoretically, of course...

Practically, it would be the most realistic, in-scale way to duplicate the efforts of the original prop-makers.
So yep, back to looking at Mark... LOL

Ahh, so sorry Mark. I didnt mean to give you more "potential work" mate! I know you do and are going to have a lot on your plate in the upcoming weeks. :)

You would need to cast the RFT helmet and 2 RFT rear visors for each helmet. As Force mentioned, this would be the best way to go as this was how the actual prop was made. I also needed to cut some plasticard to fill in the lower bill of the helmet. You also would need to add the antenna.

As I mentioned earlier, Im not sure how easy these parts would be to cast. You might be better off just tracking down a couple helmets and going from there. :dunno

By no means am I saying Mark should cast this stuff for everybody, Im just saying if one were to cast it, this is what I would do.

I agree it would be nice to learn to cast and then help out.
My comment was purely for entertainment (should have added the Benny Hill chase theme to the emote I chose).

We all know Mark loves having time to play and take photos of his dollies too, that inspires so many of us and rightfully so he has time for his own collection and customs.

Just the flip side is he is also one hell of a board member that goes above and beyond helping us all with casts (and I`m a newbie to the board too).

I'm building a mold for the 'bill', to see how difficult it would be to cast.
Then, a person would just need to get the RFT helmet and roll from there.
It would be enough to get a few people started if they already have the RFT helm.
I have a few pounds of material, and time to work on it while my SWTOR trooper armor is in the pre-molds.

Curious to see how your mold turns out Force, keep us updated.

I got one of Duane's sculpts in the post on Saturday, Nein Nunb. This one is a bit differnet than the ones Mark cast last year. Awesome sculpt, could not wait to start painting him up.....

Not quite finished, but getting there. I need to tidy up the eyes a bit more, add gloss and do a few touchups. :)
