Are you building that from scratch? It has a thick look to it, or at least I always thought so.

I am building it from scratch. I have the material figured out, its the neck area that has me stumped. Im thinking of building a wire ring to go around the neck. Duane(Enaud) and I have been discussing it.

Could you not just find a piece of tubing and wrap it with the material you are using for the tunic, maybe stitch it together leaving an inch excess that you could use to mount on the inside of the tunic

Like so ( crude image I know but you get the idea)

Hope it makes sense

oh man can't wait to see mon put together.

i can remember hating this guy as a character when i first saw him. of all the whacked characters & designs in star wars when i saw this i said now you've gone to far.........a ____ing lobster, unbelievable.....:gah:?........:lol

a few years later i now look at him as one of the coolest designed characters in sw. i'm sure you will knock him out of the park chris..........like everything you do...........:hi5:

Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it. I have some rubber grommets and o-rings laying around somewhere. I will have a look at them, I think that may work.

Okay, onto Admiral Ackbar. Initally I was going to use the Hasbro undersuit, but looking at the reference pictures the sleeves were not going to be long enough. The sleeves on the Hasbro outfit also did not hug the arms like I wanted them to as seen in the film. So after realizing these problems with the Hasbro suit, I decided to build the outfit from scratch.

First was to do the sleeves. I used the sleeves from a spare Endor Soldier.....

I then reattached the hands from the Ackbar bust. I will now be able to slide the sleeves over the forearms as seen in the film. Here is where I am at so far.

I may still use the pants from the suit since most of the suit is covered with the smock. Not sure, still lots to sort out.

You didn't tell me that you had Taym done.He looks ready good.I have to jump on the bandwagon regarding the boots.Very nice faux metal paint apps.

....& i'm still racking my brain to try to help out with an idea for Ackbars smock, lol.
You have managed to thrown together some awesome outfit,Chris(& continue to do so)using parts of all sorts.I'm confident a solution will present itself at some point or another.

isn't his uniform some kind of fleece material?.........maybe a barbie outfit?...:lol............or did you say you have that already?

Damn...Ackbar's been hitting the gym recently. :lol Looks great so far.

Thanks Duane, Barry, VaSith and Elar. :)

Barry, the outfit is kind of a leathery fleece material I think. I have some faux leather I am thinking of using, but may go with a T-shirt and apply some paint to harden and smoothen it up a bit. Not quite sure yet. Going to be a challenge I think.

Man I love your work! I wish I had all of your aliens. I'm so jealous.hey man what's the deal with that bacarra In the back ground.where did that head come from?

Thanks Mike, I appreciate it. :)

That Baraca helmet was scuplted and modded by board member Crimsonbob a couple of years ago. C-Bob was kind enough to send it to Dorgs to cast up a few copies to give to us. C-Bob and Dorgs, two of the most generous guys I know. :)

Ackbar so far gets a :clap

Thanks WG!!! He is going to be a challenge thats for sure.

I had a request for some pics of my IG-88 repaint. I basically sprayed him with primer and did a few drybush sessions on him with gun metal silver.

I would like to go back and do a little more weathering on him, but with SSC IG88 on order I may turn this one into a Lancer droid. I dunno yet.
