No, you missed out by 34 cents. Mine was the $307 bid and that was my max.:naughty I was going to place a high bid of $306, but changed it to $307 at the very last second.

I think I'm gonna be sick... :monkey4

Hey, did you know about this auction apart from this thread?

And BTW, it's 35 cents if I had placed my bid after yours... instead of before or the EXACT same second.

If two bids are the same value, the earlier placed one wins. If I had bid $307.01 after you placed your bid (the previous bid was at $262), the Watcher would have been mine. :monkey2

I didn't have a clue this auction was going on, other than seeing it here first.

Yeah, I'm not sure how the whole thing works but it appears our bids occurred at the exact same second. And yes, if you had bid $307.01 you would have won the auction.

On the bright side at least it will still be coming to the Toronto area. :D

Now I have another reason to be pissy... some dude hollering into the wild about this auction. Let the thrashing begin... :taz :slap

Hopefully this was educational... concept being proven immediately. :monkey1

One clean break on one arm, easily repaired. 2 hrs 30 min. left and only at 89.00!!! Thought I'd post this in case anyone would be interested. These usually go for quite abit!! :horror

I know you meant well, but I was watching this thing for 6 days.

And it's been on my radar for 3+years. If you hadn't mentioned it on here, it seems it would have been mine for approx $265.

Peace out.

Beren

I was watching this as well. Too bad I was away from my PC and forgot about it. I was ready to place a max bid of $350. You win some, you lose some. :duff

I hate that this happened to you, but I'm glad to have such an immediate and direct example of why threads like this SUCK ASS!

i don't think it makes that much difference myself. i mean how many people are there that are looking for one of these??

Uh... there ya go.

i guess i stand corrected, i thought it wouldn't make much of a difference.
i did get scholded sometime ago for doing the same thing, though it did not have much affect on the item that i know of, this is a good lesson for everyone on here.
not that any rules were broken, and another freak did end up with it, but a good example non the less.

i know now i have only ever posted auction of items that have sold for either well above the norm, or well below.
i'm sure you will find one sooner or later man. just sucks that this one was such a good price. though don't forget you were getting what you would of paid for. (broken)

Yeah, that was probably me that said something, and I think it was cause of some Marvel stuff I was watching that you posted live auciton links about. This does serve as a good example how a small little blurb about a cheap Ebay auction can add to the visability and make it not so cheap anymore. I have no doubt this would have completed above $200 regardless, just maybe not $300+.

I think its one of those catch 22 situations. The original post was a genuine one to alert fellow freaks to a possible good deal. As it happens Woodsy benefitted. The down side was that other people were watching this and suddenly the stakes were raised and Beren in particular lost out. Don't know if there's an easy answer...:confused:

Woodsy appreciates it.

Absolutely I do. I can certainly understand both sides of the coin on this one, I'm just grateful FeatheredSerpent gave us [me] the heads up in this situation, as I too have been looking for this piece for a long time.

Congrats woodsy!!! :D ...I apoligize to the rest that were watching the auction, Beren, and anyone else...I would have just sent a PM but didn't have anyone inparticular in mind. I knew from previous threads about that watcher that some were still trying to hunt one down so I thought I'd post the link and notify those interested incase they didn't know about it. I understand that possibly making it worse for those that were already watching it. It sounds like most were watching it already, except woodsy...:monkey3 ...So once again, I apoligize for the post, just wanted to help out some fellow freaks...

Congrats, Woodsy...

But I'm sad for Beren.

I think everyone needs to appreciate and respect how popular our message board is...
This thread already has 355 views and it's only 14 hours old.

Yeah, I was watching it too. :monkey2 I don't hold it against Feathered Serpent, but its not often I even think about breaking my rule about broken statues. I guess I'll look at it this way: when I have the money, I'll land myself a mint one.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, I was actually eyeing this item since Sept SECOND. The seller apparently relisted the item because he was selling it as "never opened before". Must have discovered the damage and relisted...

I had a shipping quote and everything already set up. :gun... :angelsmil
