People go ONLINE to throw away their money... by buying empty seats... to inflate the grosses of a movie?

And it would take 100,000 people to buy that extra ticket (and throw away their ten bucks) just to add a SINGLE million to a roughly FIFTY million opening weekend?

Why the personal delight in someone else's failure? Can't you just say I don't want to see this movie? Or (God forbid) I saw this movie and didn't like it for reasons X, y, and z?

I don't see what you wrote as mocking. If you were making fun of the movie itself, I think that's mocking. But I didn't read anything you wrote that had anything to do with the substance of the film. Perhaps I missed. That's possible since I didn't read every post.

But what I did read was your expressions of glee and joy in the prospect of this film bombing. For example, you use the word laughing four times. You wrote "ill laugh when this becomes number 2 on its own opening weekend with no other movie opening this week... ill laugh hard ."

You post pictures of an empty theater (at least I think that was you) as evidence of failure. "China can't even save this" you wrote.

Nothing in your post has anything to do with merits (or lack thereof) of the movie. Have you even seen this movie?

Weren't you the one who raised that issue? you were the one posting unauthenticated pics of an empty theatre to suggest some sort of subterfuge on the box office take. Am I accurate in that? My Wife took our 7 year old Daughter to see Secret Life of Pets, she texted to let me know they'd be late because despite the fact that they got to the theater an hour early, the first 2 showings were completely sold out. So, based on that, I don't think Ghostbusters will be #1 this weekend.

I think the $45 to $50 million opening is pretty much a done deal, I am really curious to see what kind of drop this has in its second week. Feig's movies have a history of strong second weekends, but I'm not sure if that applies to this movie.

Star Trek Beyond is next weekend's release and with Secret Life of Pets more than likely bringing in large crowds, I wouldn't be surprised to see GB in 3rd place after next weekend.

Um yea I know but it doesn't make sense. If he wants girls to look up someone why not add like young actresses or Disney channel stars or somthing. Seems strange and o btw isn't ghostbusters more action adventure type thing? Yea

It wasn't made just for kids or young girls, it was made for the general public. And God knows Disney actresses can't act their way out of a paper bag.
