I just found out about the murder-suicide details today and I lost all my respect for Benoit as a person. Regardless, I still respect him as only THE athlete he was on-stage during his wrestling years with the WWE,WCW,etc. It is very sad to see that if he was suffering mentally and/or physically that he had gone down to the level of murdering his wife and his son...my prayers are out to them.

Nevertheless...Chris Benoit...even on TV, has always seemed to be a very quiet, internal person...a man of few words that would explode with intensity in the ring.As a wrestling fan (though I don't keep up with it as I used to) I will never forget him and will remember him a fantastic, entertaining, and intense athlete...but that will NEVER forgive him for the murders of his wife and son.

It seems to me that Benoit had a lot of internal struggles...and his relationship with his wife and son must've been strained after the 2003 divorce filings. Compound it with the travel stress of the WWE schedule (They're on the road something like 250+ days out of the year) and the possible steroid abuse as well as any other drug abuse... he probably had a lot boiling inside of him and let it out on his poor family and they had to suffer wrongly for it.

R.I.P. Nancy and Daniel Benoit

Chris Benoit,I'm sorry you went down on this path.

If that is true, the family had some real mental unstability giving a 7 Yr old steroids.

Well, there is another line that is left out of that story you quoted:

More shocking was Ballard's revelation that The Benoit's son Daniel was found with needle marks in his arms. ESPN wrote, "The district attorney said he believed that the boy had been given growth hormones for some time because the family considered him undersized." HGH can be prescribed for children deemed hormone deficient.

my bad, i thought I got it all.

It's still unknown if he is deemed hormone deficient.

So can anybody edit a Wiki entry? What about timezone shifts? Somebody in another part of the world could feasibly time stamp a day before or after the occurrence.

Yeah, anyone can edit Wiki.

What if it was done deliberately to create mystery by adjusting the chron on their computer registry?

It wasn't roid rage. It was religion. Wasn't there a Bible found by the body of each victum? If the Benoit family were good atheists, they'd still be alive.

What? If there was a Playboy or a copy of GTA by each body, wouldn't people blame those things?

But the IP address that supposedly did the editing was from Conn. Not the other side of the world.

I know, I was just answering Daves question.

It was made from a computer in Stanford Conn. at 12:01 am EST, police say they found the bodies at 2:30pm EST.

Employees at Wikipedia.org said the posting went live on their site on Monday at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Standard Time. Police, however, said they found the bodies Monday at 2:30 p.m. EDT.

Who eles could have known that far ahead??

Strange.

There are logs that show what time it was edited and by what IP address; unless a hacker broke into the server and gained access to the logs, they have the correct time and IP address. They can conduct forensics on the server to tell if it has been hacked or tampered with.
