Being a "Baby Boomer", I have grown up with several things that I now equate with Christmas, and it just wouldn't be the same without them! "A Charlie Brown Christmas", "How the Grinch Stole Christmas", and "It's A Wonderful Life" all mean Christmas to me and if I didn't see them, I would be very disappointed. I am pretty sure this is true for most of the "boomers" on the board.

What I am curious about is, do the younger members of the board see these and/or other TV specials or movies as a tradition they have grown up with and must see at Christmas? Or is it just us old farts...

Every year I watch my VHS copy of Rich Little's Christmas Carol. HBO used to run it every Christmas but hasn't shown it for a few years now. I can quote this thing from start to finish, it's great comedy as only Rich could do.

Breakout the buttermilk! Buttermilk?

I didn't forget the other Christmas specials; Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman, "A Christmas Carol" (with Alastair Sim), etc. all mean Christmas to me as well, but the top three are the ones I listed above.

No love for Ralphie???

EDIT: Image disapeared.

I'm 25 and grew up watching A Charlie Brown Christmas, Rudolph, and Frosty. Actually I just watched Rudolph the other day when it was on.

I guess I'm too old for "A Christmas Story". I've just never really watched it that much, there was always the "old" classics to watch instead. I will have to give it another look see since so many people hold it in such high regard!

I like the classic holiday movies, but watching them year after year gets a little sickening. I really enjoy the older Christmas specials like Rudolph, Frosty, etc. as well as the Charlie Brown Christmas specials. However this year, I've been finding time to watch what I consider "newer" classics with the wife like National Lampoons Christmas Vacation and my personal fav, Elf.

one movie that i watch every Christmas is Untamed Heart. It is a drama movie that moves me.

For me it's A Christmas Story, Scrooged and Nightmare Before Christmas. Every now and again I still watch the original animated Grinch as well...:D

"A Christmas Story" hands down. I love the classic lines-- even to the point me and my woman even got a leg lamp.

As well, I make it a tradition to watch some of the 24th marathon when it comes on and get completely wasted on spiked egg nog.

I have seen some of it and know the basic story. It has been awhile though. I really liked the opening where we get to see Marisa Tomeii getting dressed.:D

:drool :drool why did u remind me? :drool :lol Also, there is a part where she gets naked but you just see her back  :D

...well, you gotta watch the whole thing. It is, IMO, a good date movie. Anyone that wants to watch a chick flick during a date, I recommend this. :D Even to you Banny.

Besides all the classic Christmas specials and movies, I have a soft spot for The Homecoming. It's the 1971 pilot for The Waltons. I saw it as a kid, and it's stuck with me all these years.

Pretty much everything you guys talk about: A Christmas Story, Its A Wonderful Life, Charlie Brown, all the crappy (I say crappy with love) puppet ones. I would like to add the following:

The Nightmare Before Christmas
The Wizard of Oz

and for all those *morons out there:

Mr. Kruegers Christmas starring Jimmy Stewart and the MoTab Choir!!!
