Wasn't it raining in the breakout scene?
If we are really wanting accuracy, then gloss finish, just saying.

What's any different about this latest from FB vs the other's we've seen, even those people seem to like? The lighting is very strong on it, so it's revealing about everything. But, overall the paint application looks about like the rest to me. If you liked those, why not this one?

Who said they liked any of them? (Apart from the fanboys on SF and even most of them are conceding it looks bad)

I think most of these pictures are taken too close with too much light on them. Both bring out the small details.

Sadly with the rising in prices, for 500 + the size + the JP name, I am sure 500 is average price for an average looking pieces.

Seems like too many are expecting the 1:1 paintjob "by the original artist" and not a scaled down version, with higher prices, that is...in the end...painted by someone else in china to make it look like the proto.

If these guys were asking 1k, I would expect the level of ED and Cain...but again...with prices going up...taking specific pictures, with bad lighting, at a distance you would never actually be looking at, of a paint app by someone on a line...I do not think it is that bad.

The problem with this is that at $550-600 to begin with, I'm not in the market for a "budget" release of something at this level. Making a piece $550 vs making it $600 isn't worth the difference in paint apps if that ever did come down to that extra $50. I don't expect custom level paint jobs, but these companies need to charge what it takes to do the piece right at a professional level. And that's what CC promised us at $550-600. We're just making excuses for them here.

I do agree the lighting was not flattering on the last one from FB. It looks about like the others to me, and any color differences are certainly the lighting in those photos. The colors have been pretty consistent otherwise.

I don't think it's that bad either. At normal viewing distance the overall piece looks good to me, but that's definitely a minority opinion. I'm still looking forward to getting mine--though I'm at the point where I doubt I'll post pics of it when I get it whether it's good or bad. If it's bad, I'll just send it back. If it's good, I'd like to enjoy it without people trying to find faults in it just to continue the Chronicle-bashing.

People on FB JP Toys started a formal complain to NBCUniversal Brand Development with email and phone # against Chronicle.:panic:

Will the mods there also be reporting themselves for selling unlicensed JP merch?

Those mods on the FB JP page are ridiculous. They've been stoking the fire against Chronicle for this piece for weeks.

Picked this up for $454 shipped and will have it early next week. I like the sculpt, diorama and most of the paint application except for the lower jaw. If the black dots don't look too obnoxious, I may try some slight paint modification/blending to that area.

Cinemaquette quality, Toynami, at a fraction of the price was promised.

That's a very odd way at looking at the situation as a whole. CC promised a high level/professional looking piece, and they didn't deliver. You're setting the standards for Chronicle and collectors with this type logic. If you think that this looks acceptable for $500-600 then so does CC. This will be the new norm.

Breakout Rex cost me £475!

Paul has just, finally, admitted he is 'less than thrilled about the paint job' on BO Rex.

They are indeed 'touching up' pieces before sending them out which isn't much consolation for international customers who didn't buy direct due to the huge shipping and import fees.

Here is what he said:

"Just wanted to give an update, Breakouts and Stegos are shipping.

I know a lot of people have been lass than thrilled with the paint job and so are we. We are meeting with Toynami in LA this weekend to discuss what happened with the Rex. We are making great efforts to ensure that the 1-1 Raptor and Owen and Blue are the best we can possibly make and match the paint masters.

One of the things we are doing with the 1-1 Raptor is getting photos of each batch of Raptors and approving each batch from photos, all 300.

Next we will have them QC'd one final time before packing.

I am going to go to great lengths to get the JP product people expect and try to match the paint samples as closely as possible.

I know there have been a lot of people saying they are charging back and canceling their orders, but I wonder how many are actually customers?

To date we have had 24 cancellations and 7 new sales this past week based on photos posted.

I appreciate the support from the fans and the guys here at Statue Forum, good or bad, I will always listen.

Paul"

So international costumers are not receiving the "QC" at Chronicles ? So they should get a discount.

Orders via dealers are shipped from the factory, Chronicle will never see them.
The same dealers are not in a position to offer a discount.

Result: International buyers lose out, as per usual.
