Going back and rereading the initial reactions of the Very Museum photos in contrast with the response of the past few pieces is striking. Even the base that you mentioned warranted a replacement by Toynami according to Paul on the Very Museum piece yet these recent photos depict the same paint apps on the base. Let me add to your confusion:

You do like to twist things..

The statue looks fine everyone who has seen it thinks it looks good. Friends of mine who are into collecting, producing artwork, sculpting, mask making etc.. think its fine.

Can it be better? Absolutely. Is it different from the rest? Nope. Was it touched up? Nope. Did the factory botch the piece? Yup. Does it look better in hand? Yup. Might it be slightly nicer than another? Yes its massed produced by people so they can never each be exactly the same.

Anything else and do you even collect anything?

The eye paint needs a glossy finish on it. It has no realism or life to it.

That's what I was thinking. It has a very "comiquette" look and finish to it - especially the head.

Two more bad examples....looks like it's the norm compared to a good one, which is like the sample paint work. Maybe 1 out of 20 are good? Here's hoping I get one from that one dude who can paint!

What's any different about this latest from FB vs the other's we've seen, even those people seem to like? The lighting is very strong on it, so it's revealing about everything. But, overall the paint application looks about like the rest to me. If you liked those, why not this one?
