Also, I think if one company has already chosen a pose there is less interest in someone else to do it.

Here's to hoping Sideshow has an ESB PF in the works :rock

I'm hoping for the same thing since I don't have the first Vader PF and not willing to pay secondary market prices for it.

I know what you mean Galactic..but if you could have any pose for Darth ESB..what would it be? For me..it would be him doing the "Eye am your father" pose..maybe on the walkway as a base with a railing. The way their sabers have been lately..we wouldnt have to worry about it with that pose.

That is the same pose I (and probably 95% of collectors) would want. That one pose/scene sums up SW almost perfectly.

PS, the red and blue buttons on the chestbox do not light up in any of the original OT films. Only the coin slots lit up, and only in ESB and ROTJ.

"Eye" am your father? Who does he think he is...Sauron? :ogat:lol

Yes the Headsculpt will be located inside the helmet -- not a separate piece -- the samples shown were to how the inside detailing...

The pleats on the tunic are missing...they tried it early on and it unfolded...they didn't know that those pleats are actually stitched together - hopefully they fix it...
The breastplate is definitely undersized...
but overall I love the piece...
my only real gripe is (and I saw this is person and looked at it for almost 30minutes)

The legs seem too damn short -- of course the codpiece and belt are a little on the low side...so I don't know if it will be adjustable at all...

the quality is all there -- the face is more accurate than the life sized bust -- it really does resemble a don post dx -- down to the nose bridge (which is way narrow on the bust) and even the s-curve on his screen right cheek.

the helmet's face was indeed scanned and cleaned up - that's why it looks so dead on - but the rear portion is cut differently though in the revealtoward the top rear of his head......the portrait is ...meh -

but I love it overall and would buy it in a heartbeat -- better than the pf for sure!

impossible to compare a $300 statue to a $2000 + statue. also really not fair to compare this to the SS bust which costs much less (and apples and oranges in any event).

This is NICE - but it could have been so much more, and I think that is why many of us are disappointed.

You have some good points, but there are also some points that make no sense. Like, why do you compare it with the SS Lifesize Bust?? It's much more difficult to make a big piece look screen accurate than a small piece :lecture ;)

I totally agree with the impossibility of comparison the PF with the CM and with the SS bust. The CM looks fantastic but there are still some problems with it. Fix them and this might be the best Vader statue out there. Until then the Attakus Vader seems to be the most imposing.

Their booth had some of the worst lighting at Con, but I managed a few shots -

I agree regarding the length of his legs, and the costuming didn't seem to be all that well tailored either.

:panic:

Thanks for the pics.

I still love it.

(8000th post...yea me)

Unless CM drops the prices I will never buy...The Life size bust is much better value and I still think that was overpriced..

Straighten the legs up.
Add a switch out left hand which is open like when Vader is talking to Luke or just change the closed fist to the open clutching hand.
Put a lining on the inside of the cape and hide the seams.
PERFECT.

That would be a perfect Vader statue indeed.

don't forget about the armour which is too small.
