would love to get indy. any idea on price, $1200?

these are amazing but you have to remember for the price of one you could have approx. 4 SS PF's.

Actually if you think about it these are more up in the Predator Maquette range rather than the SS PFs.

I didn't like the 1st Pirates much at all (still haven't seen the 2nd), but I'm seriously considering the Sparrow piece because of how amazing it is.

God bless those of you that can drop $1500 on something you are not 100% passionate about. Especially not having even seen the sequel. For me to spend that much cash on something that's based on a movie, I would have to love the movie, the actor and the likeness.

Not picking on you. Just a general observation. :monkey3

What about Captain Jack? Will he be the same price as Indy or more?

Sparrow is also $1500.

God has blessed them, that's for sure. :lol

I probably won't buy another CM until Predator or Bruce Lee comes out (whichever is first).

Plus, there's the matter of display space for a 1:3 scale statue. You'd have to be so passionate about movie, actor, and likeness that you wanted something that will dominate whatever room it's in.

I think these Cinemaquettes aren't "collectibles" so much a a series of opportunities for different people to make an important (to them) once-in-a-lifetime purchase. Who will actually collect a series of huge $1500 movie statues?

I mean other than Gruson, of course. :D

Good point GOB, it has actually surprised me how many are actually trying to collect them all.

As much as I like them that definitely leaves me out. But I definitely meat your other criteria for Jack and Indy. My 2 favorite actors in roles that I most remember them for. Definitely must have additions to my collection.

But I agree if I did't love these roles and actors as much as I do, wouldn't be worth the price of admission for me.

i agree. for people who really want them, space will probably be more of a consideration than the price of the pieces themselves. at least for me. and i'll be damned if i'll let any collectible dictate when i buy a bigger house lol.

Well, for me the space isn't an issue.... it's the money. I REALLY want the Jack CM but will probably never be able to afford it. Maybe if I start saving now and stop buying anything else for my collection... :monkey2

LOL Gruff!

I will not own them all. Their Terminator collection was a must have for me though (still waiting on that endo!!!)

Of the ones announced so far, I will probably pick up Predator and Indy. Maybe Gandalf if he looks better than Aragorn! ;)

I received the Alien but honestly did not like it enough to justify $1500. I will try to get it at a cheaper price next year, assuming a certain sale happens again. :)

As for Sparrow, I thought about getting it because it looks very nice but in the end, I just do not like Pirates enough to spend that kind of money.

My order for Indy will be placed the MINUTE it is up for sale. It is a must have for me and I already have the display ready for him.

:)

There are some people at statueforum who will end up with most of the CMs though. I have to REALLY like the movie and the piece to spend that kind of money.

Looking forward to future releases for sure. Keaton Batman is #1 on my list for them to produce.

I have already started doing that. I have been cancelling stuff left and right and streamlining all my preorders and the items I already have but I am willing to live without. Heck, I look at some of my posts here and it even seems like I am burned out. No more SW 12", lots of comiquettes cancelled, MR props cancelled, etc. I have been on a rampage including ebay auctions just because these are coming.

You gotta do what you gotta do. When these two cinemaquettes come out (Jack and Indy) it's gonna be all worth it. I just keep telling myself: one on each side of my home theater flanking the TV. :D

I've cancelled all 5 of my SS PFs, not getting Fett or Kiss PFs....instead will be looking for a select few of the CM line. Indy first, the family likes the Jack statue but I'm not a big fan even though he looks good. Like Gru I may end up with Gandalf but only if he looks as good as the SS/Weta bust as a minimum.

It sounds like most folks in the US buy direct from CM, is that what you guys will be doing?

Ordering direct for these is the way to go. It's easier to deal with CM than through a dealer if anything goes wrong. If direct customers have to wait a while imagine a retailer that has to be the in-between man. Not to mention shipping back the damaged piece will be at your expense.

Take no chances on a $1500 statue. Order direct.

Have to say - the sculpt is definitely there - but is this Indy or Mosquito Coast Ford? Too much chin hair!

Just amazing. I guess they have a hard time doing just stubble though.

ahhhh, my holy grail. eyes could be dimmed down a bit. i'm sure it's because of the extreme close up though.
