That is an f'n awesome piece!!! I hope you get it Rory!! If I had a couple thousand laying around I would snatch one up.....but sadly that is not the case. I can only dream.......and drool over the pics.

When they first debuted it I emailed CMQ about the hat and coat. They said something about this version more conveyed the character or something like that.

Didn't they say something like he is in the film more like this, than in his coat and hat? Personally I think the hat and coat are essential, but I still want one.

Yep, you're right B - you email them too?

As we already seen a lot of
products of him sporting these accessories, we discovered that he
actually does not have these pieces of clothing throughout the majority
of the movie. As a very colorful character already, we did not want to
limit this piece to such a short number of scenes. Although the pose is
completely original, it can be related to an infinite number of
scenarios.

he needs a new face sculpt is what he needs.

His eyes are too close together... or his head is too wide... or his hair is wrong at the sides....

something is making it look nothing like Johnny Depp, which is a shame because the rest of it (and like most of their other pieces) looks awesome!

I cringe whenever someone comments that he needs a new sculpt. I think it's perfect and I'm afraid that anything they do would just spoil that.

well I think that's potentially a valid point. They could make it worse. Hopefully it's something they can fix without touching the sculpt, like the hairline or something. (things like this can alter how wide a face looks)

I think what throws it off as piece and from looking like Johnny is the hair. For one, there is not enough, if there are any, dreadlocks for the character, as well as his hair, at least on the left of his face, coming down from under his bandana very near to his ear where the wig had it coming down leaving minimal space between his eybrow and his dreads, which in turns thins out Johnny's face. Also, either they are misrepresenting Jack same as Medicom, or they've been working on this for a long time, or they preferred Curse of the Black Pearl because his belt and bandolier reflect the simpler style of that film.

They have been working on this since 2004, which is why they are using "Black Pearl" Jack.

I just don't understand where the gripes are coming from. This has to be the best likeness I've ever seen on a statue.

I agree. But it doesn't matter now, since these are in production, and will be available in the next few weeks (hopefully).

That is the part I don't understand though because I thought they were defending their choice for no Hat and Coat by saying it was the DMC Jack in which he didn't wear these as often.

But I agree I think this is truly and amazing piece. I have to admit though that certain angles I have seen may appear to be off, but I really believe that in person that won't be the case.

This has definitely become my grail piece. I just wish I could find a way to swing it now.

I might sell it all for Sparrow and Indy! Don't need much more than the best. :rock

Well, of course I will still keep most of my favorite items. :D

I have to agree - I have never seen a better likeness. When I first saw the pics in the Forbidden Planet catalogue I couldn't believe what I was looking at.The Indiana Jones one had the exact opposite effect..who is that supposed to be.Seriously, that CANNOT be Harrison Ford.Is it from the Young Indy chronicles or something??Anyway..I do not really like the Pirate films but that Sparrow would be snapped up if I had the funds!!

In person I am sure that this CM will look even more like Captain Sparrow. It is all about bad photography and angles.

I will flood this place with photos if I can actually grab one of these.

The best likeness currently available, bar none! This is Jack Sparrow/Johnny Depp.
I will find a way to own this absolutely stunning piece!
