I never did like the Cinemaquette Indiana Jones. I always wanted to hold out to see if SS would do a p.f., which we lucked out and they did.

Now, I am adopting the same philosophy for Captain Jack Sparrow. I REALLY want a Captain Jack in my collection. But, I don't care for the Cinemaquette one (likeness is off, and no hat), plus it's too expensive. I'm holding out to see if SS does a p.f.

I don't see Sideshow getting the POTC license just for PF's since the 1/6th license is already taken. So I think the Cinemaquette Jack is the best version there is going to be.

These are really nice, but with bad sculpts and high prices it just isn't worth it. Really I'd probably rather see them do a 1:1 bust of the characters with the same quality. Probably cost around the same and I think that could be more impressive.

You know, I really wanted one of these, but it is out of my price range. I'm actually glad to see that I wouldn't have wanted it anyway. The sculpt just isn't right, aand for that kind of money it should be perfect. Sideshow's looks better.

Still can't believe the price of this thing.....2k...

With that I could no doubt end up with a premium format from all 4 Indy movies...A 1/6th figure from all 4 movies...and still have nearly 400 dollars in change!

I didn't realize it was 2K.....wow.
The irony is, they're probably not going to be in business long, and as soon as the Company closes then these figures will become valuable collectibles because only a few were made and sold..:naughty

Can't wait to receive my CM Indy. Hope you all get lucky with the SS version, I know I will with this Cinemaquette.

How does Cinemaquette stay in business? Do they have other stuff they make or are they a branch of a larger company?

"Huge"?? That's a stretch! And they are an American company, btw. A small one, at that. :rotfl

Ha! My bad... that's true. They are in Van Nuys, CA. Could have sworn they've been around for ever but it looks like they've only been around since 2000. They must sell a ton of Naruto toys to bank roll this.

Yep, that and their overpriced Robotech toys that fall apart if you happen to breathe on them the wrong way. :monkey2

hmm... i just finished reading the last couple of posts. i think the cinemaquette has the "butterface" look. everything looks good, butterface!!! now, they have some really AWESOME pieces such as the Alien, Jack Sparrow, and the Terminator pieces. and with the Predator as popular as he is getting now, i'm sure they'll sell a crap ton of them.

Actually Toynami IS huge. The ship millions of toys in Asia and that's where they make their money. Cinemaquette is a labor of love for the president of Toynami. I chatted with him at length at SDCC last year. None of the Cinemaquettes make a profit. The T-850 was retired as soon as it made back it's costs. He plans on doing that with all of them. So none will hit the listed 1000 edition size.

I still wouldn't classify them as "huge", Dave. Bandai is huge. Hasbro/TakaraTomy, now that's big. Toynami is a very small fry in the grand scheme of things, especially in Japan.
