Circuit City became the largest retailer to fall victim to the expanding financial crisis Friday, announcing it will shut down its remaining 567 U.S. stores at the cost of 34,000 more jobs after failing to sell the business.

I didn't shop there much, but I hate hearing another 34,000 will be jobless. :(

I have window shopped there a few times but it always seemed like everything was overpriced...

Didn't Circuit City fire p!tu? :lol

I bought a high-end Craig portable CD player there in the late 90's, but that's about it. Always overpriced. I do remember when they first opened that everyone wore ties and white shirts, but that didn't last too long.

Never shopped there very much. I would always go to Frys or Best Buy. Then Best Buy screwed me over, so now I only go to Frys or NewEgg.com.

NewEgg.com.

The best! Or the best kept secret....as everyone always asks, "what is newegg?".

Example: I recently saved myself like $100 by getting a $20 9 ft hdmi cable from newegg rather than paying over $100 from Bestbuy!

I feel the exact same way about Kay-bees. They were overpriced and they made their money by ripping off parents.

How can you really feel bad about them going under?

I can't remember the last time I was in CC, but I CAN remember the last 3 times I went to Best Buy. I guess that sums it up for me.

I actually went there yesterday in search of a deal on a TV or a laptop or a new receiver. It didn't take to long to recognize that they had actually RAISED their prices for this "sale." :lol

The funny/sad part came when I left, and saw literally scores of people waiting in line to purchase some of these items. :( They could have walked right across the street to Best Buy, bought the same product and saved even more money ... AND had the benefit of a return policy. Suckers to the last....
