Btw, for those of you that might be unaware, Alex did the Gary Cooper sculpt below, which I purchased from him. He also did some fantastic sculpts of Abbott and Costello that you will find on the Classic Comedians thread...

Thank you Geronimo my friend, this is Gary.

Re: Classic "Tough Guys" thread - Bogart, Cagney,Weissmuller (Tarzan), Cooper & other

Thanks Geronimo,

Glad you like it and I have now kind of warmed to the coat! I am going to try to finish it up this weekend and cast it to get a small amount of shrinkage to bring it into a perfect scale as it is a little on teh big side, but I will let you know. What Brando are you doing? :)

Hey Joel, a question for you...when you cast, how do you get shrinkage? It would seem that when you cast something, the casting would be the same size, or am I wrong? Can you get significant shrinkage? If so, how?

What did you have in mind for your Duke bash, young or old?
I am planning a Rio Bravo version. I saw that sculpt on eBay and wasn't too sure since there is no hole drilled in the neck.

It will take some work, but that hs will be great for Rio Bravo. Just drill the hole and paint it up. Just make sure to put him on a tall body cause the Duke was 6'4". :wink1:
Here is my John T. Chance from Rio Bravo. I went with the blue shirt version to match this look in the film.

That is the very look I am going fo. I plan on using a narrow TT with the longer foot pegs. What would you suggest? Also the hat, I think Stevo makes one I was planning on getting one from him, is that where you got yours?

You should be fine with the longer pegs combined with boots for the height. I think the regular would work better than the slim, but you can always put padding around it.

The hat I used is from a Sideshow JW U.S. Calvary Officer figure. :wink1:

Stevo does make really good hats but it'll take at least three months to get one, he works to order and has quite a backlog. The Sideshow one is great, Wayne wore the same exact hat for both movies, but it's very hard to find now.

If you want I wouldn't mind making one for you. Probably not quite as good as Stevo but okay and I'd only want ten bucks to cover the postage (I'm in the UK).
Let me know what you think.
Here's the one I made for mine:

Also, Auggie at BGT told me he is working on a similar version of The Dukes hat and will be selling it soon in his John Wayne section on his website. Let's just hope he makes it big enough to fit the Sideshow HS.

I'm not finished with the painting yet...it takes me a while to get them where I feel comfortable...

I meant to comment on this, but got sidetracked with the Duke. Great job on the fab 4 Geronimo. How did you make the suits and are those Peter's sculpts?

Re: Classic Actors & Tough Guys - Bogart, Cagney, Wayne, Eastwood, and others...

Hey DA...

No problem, actually, I enjoy reading about and seeing everything on the thread about the Duke. I really like everyone's posts...

I'm pretty immersed in a new dio of the Fab Four right now. The previous pictures that I posted are from an older dio. Those collarless suits were made by a friend on mine who does a fantastic job at sewing. I have an extra set (slightly different, but just as good). If anyone is interested, pm me.

The sculpts are not Peter's this time. They are from a resin casting that I found online on eBay (I see them offered every three to six months). I don't know who sculpted them...

Here's where I'm at right now...

Hey now, those are fantastic. Great work as always Geronimo!!! You do a great job on your customs and I would love to see more when it's finished. You can't beat the fab four, unless your asking a Stones fan. :lol

The one and only James Dean in GIANT. I finally got around to adding this man to my collection. I used the Crazy Owners HS and repainted the hair and touched up the eyebrows to get rid of the dark brown. I made him that cigarette too. :)

Great job, DA! Most especially on his face; and I really like his overall look, the crispness of his shirt..:clap
