All I have to say is...

I encourage you to "Paint it Black", I think it will make it a little less toy like. You could even put a photo in Photoshop to see if you will like it before you paint it.

Hey Jim, I took your advice and "Painted it Black" in Photoshop...not bad, but still hard to tell because you lose the car detail when using Photoshop (doors, etc.).

Here are pics before and after Photoshop:

Pros (of painting it black):
- looks like original Model Ts they used
- looks less Toy like, and gives the ability to detail even more over time

Cons:
- Paint will be difficult to apply evenly and to match original paint. Brush application cannot be used as brush marks will show spoiling the authentic look. Airbrush would be the best, but difficult to apply.
- Car being all one color will draw less attention.

I'm undecided. An interim alternative step I will take is to remove the stickers on the front below the windshield because they do make the car look toyish. I will also be looking to find headlights to fit the front grill. I think if I do those things, I can reevaluate everything.

All thoughts welcomed!

I think it will look personally better black. But obviously will not look so in your face and striking!

Thanks Joel...

I also found another use for the car, as Jack Benny's old Maxwell (which by the way was black also)...

Black appears to be the only answer! I would say just do it!

Just give it a coat of a gloss black and it will be very close. I like it!

I have to agree with Joel...

Gloss Black and call it a day. Keep in mind if you use it for Benny you're gonna have to make a 1/6 Eddie "Rochester" Anderson to chauffeur Jack around.
