The original modern IM comiquette is MUCH MUCH better. Im surprised there is even a thread about this. I love the pose and it's going to be tough to beat. I got the classic armor EX version but I am a little disappointed. But most statues look better in person.

I beg the differ. I think the Classic Armor EX version rock!! :rock

I'm failing to make the connection visually from this:

to this:

I want a Stealth version variant because this IS the armor that Stealth was supposed to come in with a few subtile changes but as much as I want all the other Armors, not with this pose....maybe if they remove the flag hand and make it shooting a repulsor ray or something but this pose is pretty much isolated IMHO.

Actually I meant that this new Iron Man Armor looks like a cross between the Robotech Next Generation Mospeoda Cycle armor and the Golden Avenger armor.

Even though I don't have the Modern Ex Iron Man Comiquette (because of bad luck throught ebay) I still like it better than the classic. I think if it wasnt for the exclusive change heads with the classic iron man it would pass as a Bowen statue....But I still have it on pre-order

The Mark 01 Film Iron Man maquette set to order this week could put them both to shame.......could.

Well that's like comparing apples and oranges now Mike, you could put any or the best sculpt to date of the Mark 01 and I still would like a Mark 03 version before it because it's the final revision, sleekish, modern, non-bulky... So IMO if it's Red/Gold it beats any Mark 01 :lol

edit: I agree Mark 01 is iconic and the start of it all but Mr. Stark ended it right with the production model! :rock

:lol

I'm just talking about Iron Man representational pieces. Film Mark 01 is great but far from Iconic. The iconic Mark 01 is the 1960s Mark I (Roman numerals in the Comics, numbered in the film) hopefully we see that too.
