Exactly my thoughts when I saw it yesterday in the latest episode. I was just as pumped for this as I was the Stealth Comiquette. I was teetering on ordering the classic BD piece until I saw this.
I'm more than happy with this. Seems like the number of haters are limited, they're just really vocal (isn't that always the case?). It's getting tiresome hearing the same homophobic comments anytime you get a male character in a less aggressive stance sporting abs (e.g. 300).
I say, well done SSC. I like the flag too... I think it makes the piece more interesting.
Now I just hope I can afford to keep it in 1Q09
I would guess that many are pre-ordering this regardless of whether they plan to keep it or not. Hence a likely large ES. I still want it regardless.
My preference is the "helmet in arm" version, as I have no Iron Man with this pose. The other version looks off to me. I think having the left arm holding something gives the piece an overall better look. With the left arm hanging down, it still gives a "supermodel" pose.. more like an Adam Hughes variant.
i wonder if they actually have a set es for this, since it seems odd that the reg version is up for order at the same time??
usually they hold off on the release of the reg edition until the ex is sold out or close to it.(lately that's about 2-3 days afterwards) that way they can make sure the reg is a larger es than the ex. version.
