Sounds exactly like him He's retired now but still wit da stories... Does make a interesting family gathering but of course everyone in my family doesn't know what he's talkn about unless u were from a techincal background... even then it's tough to follow but he explains.

I get the jist of it well because I got my Comp Sci engineering degrees so they say talkn to me is almost like talkn to him but he's still a wealth of knowledge.

I'm in the process of building a Sharepoint portal now. Biggest train wreck ever from Microsoft. IIS and Sharepoint do not play well together. I told them they need to bring in a full blown guru because I'm sick of dealing with it. They want to make changes every week and none of them know anything about server and data management so I'm about to exit the project once this hired gun shows up and I couldn't be happier.

Dedicated Sharepoint admin is right. I built our little WSS version a while back and it was fine for a while but now they want BIG. I told them it's to time consuming to not have a full time admin. Of course I wanted to dump this albatross anyway and spend all my time on the darkside. Pixs, ASAs, routers, switches and VPN concentrators are what I do best.

Once it gets set up though you'll appreciate it, I'm just on my usual Microsoft rant. It's not all bad.

Yeah they still use me as a developer as well since that's my second love although I started out in security. So I've been writing software apps in Java and .NET to not allow certain users access to apps and close certain ports... Basically a user interface that doesn't allow some non-power users access to all the goods on their PC... They do have administrative lock down images that they install on their PC's but they want to go a step further and that's where my application expertise comes into play....
