I had some poor slob who had Google for his homepage and had a bunch of widget installed. One of them went ballistic and downloaded a bunch of nudes to his C drive for easy viewingmonkey5). They were getting ready to can him but I was able to determine the true culprit was the widget, it downloaded 72 images in 11 seconds. No one is that fast right clicking and saving.

Needless to say he's my best buddy now.

Yea I would be more worried if I was at a different company but not the one we r at... Since I have to packet sniff certain ppl's machines because of notorious traffic unless they hired IT to look at IT then I might b in trouble but I agree with others that are not in same position as I, gots to b careful wit da job.

Nah just meaning ppl in charge of network security at their own company, don't think the gov is going to after reg employees at just any random company, unless their were doing something they wayyyyyyy shouldn't at work, LEAVE that stuff for HOME

I'm a network engineer so I'm at the enclave level and you would no believe the crap that gets thrown at us from around the globe. But we are locked down tighter than a drum. I'm a whitehat now so I know what's out there and how to defend it. Never a dull moment though.

Sounds pretty kewl man, I almost signed for a government agency job when I graduate with my BS went further with my Masters but then I took a step back because of my father being a army intelligence officer (softtroop) told me some ^^^^ that I really wouldn't want to deal with and I'd would want to have freedom to live a normal life.

Hopefully urs is not the same, so I made my choice to go more commercial companies.

Not in todays environment. He was the type who needed to be taken down a few notches and this would have been perfect for his superiors. I'm incorruptible so the topic was never discussed as to looking the other way. I rule with an iron fist!

yes sir I know whats that all abt, my bosses are the same way and I really don't have to deal with any of that bull thank god and I'm not replaceable at the moment for my group, especially with all the programs, maintenance and logging and tracking that really can only be done by me because I wrote the software. It's good to secure urself so deap that if u left they would be screwd.

I tried to leave once to go somewhere else for more $$$, they wouldn't let me, counter offered that day... or was it the next day luv it!!!

Mine is cool. I'm an old soldier so I'm used to the drill. Gotta keep your nose clean though because you do not want your clearance revoked, for any reason.

Sounds exactly like him He's retired now but still wit da stories... Does make a interesting family gathering but of course everyone in my family doesn't know what he's talkn about unless u were from a techincal background... even then it's tough to follow but he explains.

I get the jist of it well because I got my Comp Sci engineering degrees so they say talkn to me is almost like talkn to him but he's still a wealth of knowledge.

Nice to see a few IT folks on the board. Anybody here a Sharepoint developer? I'm hiring.

I'm in the process of building a Sharepoint portal now. Biggest train wreck ever from Microsoft. IIS and Sharepoint do not play well together. I told them they need to bring in a full blown guru because I'm sick of dealing with it. They want to make changes every week and none of them know anything about server and data management so I'm about to exit the project once this hired gun shows up and I couldn't be happier.
