Saw a Screening of "Gran Torino" a few weeks ago @ DGA (Director's Guild of America) and Clint did a live Q & A after. It was great to see him in Person (we moved to the front row for that.) :D

I do recommend the Film, it is very stripped down though.

Below find the First Review from Variety. (with Spoilers)

Heard it was like a Cronenberg film so I'm pumped for it. I've seen the trailers, but I'm avoiding reviews for spoilers. Seems like one of those movies, the less you know the better.

Clint Eastwood is a ^^^^ing MAN and Badass.

Yeah this one looks great.

Speaking of him sounding like Batman, it's too bad they could never get him and Nicholson to do The Dark Knight Returns back in the late 90's. It was a rumored proposal, probably never got far, but I dream of what that could've been.:monkey2

Me and my brother can't wait to see it. Looks ^^^^in' bad-ass :rock Just wish theywould set a date here in denmark :emperor

Hasn't anyone seen this yet? Hello? :lol

GT is in limited Release, it opens Wide soon, maybe that's why this thread has been silent but

THIS Film has the Highest Grossing Per Screen Average out there.

It's doing amazingly well in platform release.

Anyway. Go see Clint. You won't be disappointed. :D

I saw it and was very impressed. I'm not a huge Clint Eastwood fan - his directing is very workman like with very few flourishes and virtually no style (which some would call a style all his own).

But the script and his performance in this film made it very enjoyable - funny, touching and much, much more. The main mistep (and it's HUGE) is Clint singing the theme song over the start of the end credits. His singing is so laughable that it undermines the rest of the film I thought.

The unknown supporting cast is great too. I definitely predict nominations for Clint as actor and original screenplay - some of the writing is clunky and obvious - but the majority of it great.

Loved it. I'm a sucker for "the crusty old guy who finds a heart" storylines. And the humor really saved it from being sappy. Very amusing, very touching, surprisingly well-done. Now one of my favorite films of this year.

you damn kids get off my lawn!

I'll go see it just for that. I love Clint.
