Funny that I canceled my original order placed a year ago and then one I replaced with the coupon less than 2 months ago has shipped. :lol

And I checked and was pre-auth'd last week... so these are definitely coming now. Everyone else who still has it on order, be on the lookout. :rock

me too!

they actually called me like a week ago to confirm my re-order and canceled my 1st one so i could have the discount on this one.
pretty cool.

They were really proud at the booth, a lady said while the starwars stuff drew people in most were asking about the cloverfield monster.

Oh man, that dio was at SDCC??!!! I never went IN the Hasbro booth 'cuz the lines and crowds kept me away. I swear, this year, I spent more time in the Sideshow and Paramount booths than all the other booths combined.

Okay, this is TOTALLY weird.
I had gotten an email (well, several, we all remember the multi-email stupidity of October) saying mine was cancelled, and if I wanted it reinstated, I needed to call them. After that, I got "order cancelled because it was sold out" related emails. Well, I had decided I didn't really care, there were things I wanted more, so I didn't call. Today I get an email saying it has shipped. So far they haven't tried to charge it, and they aren't going to get to, because I will keep the balance lower than their cost. Total, total idiots.
They deserve whatever ill they get on this one, after that insanity in October.

so long as they can't hurt your credit, it sounds like you're getting a free toy.
fedex tracking says im getting this on friday. i'm stoked.

uh, it also says it weighs 12lbs... that sounds heavy for a 14" figure.

I got mine today!!!! At long last, I received my Cloverfield toy today via FedEx. It rocks to say the least. I was a bit worried because I got an email saying it shipped and then a second email saying I had to call them to change my payment. It was all pretty painless and boiled down to the fact they no longer accept PayPal (my method at time of order) so I had to give them new info.
So here's the basic rundown of events:
Cloverfield toy offered.
Shipping date pushed back from October to Dec. 2008.
Email sent out mistakenly saying it was canceled.
Hasbro automatically resubmitted orders that were canceled or canceled any duplicate orders placed after the mistaken email went out.
Cloverfield starts shipping.

The toy is every bit as cool as the one on display at SDCC 2008. I think the angry head was actually updated and features translucent airbladders which definitely help its look. The statue of liberty head and parasites are almost to scale, which mean they are very very tiny. (Luckily the parasites can be stored in the calm head via a hidden compartment. Even the box screams collectable and will not be one you will want to easily throw away. Articulation on the toy is very good as is the single roar. Well wroth the wait.

Pretty much. And I actually used a debit card, so my credit will be fine. In fact, I went ahead and cancelled my old card and requested a new card with new expiration date and CIV number. I'm usually a pretty easygoing person, but trying to complete the sale after telling me it was cancelled just seems like a poor way to do business.

Hey guys, I got my Cloverfield Monster toy today at work!!!!! SO AWESOME! Here's some pics for you pic hungry peeps!

that's the box it came in... It's HUGE!!!

Here's the top of the box with the "Hasbro Signature Edition" logo, and Director Matt Reeves, and Producer J.J. Abrams "signatures". To all you Cloverfield ARG followers, the "Property of U.S. Government" sticker is the same as the one on the DVD/Bluray of the film.

Clovey unboxed!!! He's HUGE folks! These pics really don't do him justice... I have a co-worker who is also a member here who agreed the quality of the figure is way higher than the provided images from the Hasbro site... They need better photographers.

Clovey with his interchangeable head. Inside the head there's a compartment for the 10 tiny parasites it came with... Notice his "people suckers" are hanging out!

There's a button on his back that if you press, plays the Cloverfield "ROAR" sound. The quality of the audio is very good, and doesn't crackle or buzz. Additionally, you can press his tongue and the same sound will emit. I also really like the base he comes with. It's very sturdy heavy cardboard, and is nice and glossy!

here's a closeup of the Statue of Liberty head it came with, as well as the parasites. I'm slightly disappointed with the parasites only because at one point I could have sworn they were supposed to be magnetic and be able to stick to Clovey... I'm not bothered by their size since they're actual size compared to Clovey, and the detail is actually not bad when you get close enough to em! Sorry if they're blurry, these pics were taken with my blackberry.

So all in all, he's awesome! I'm a HUGE Cloverfield fan though so... He's a "tiny" bit flimsy when held, and the joints seem pretty solid and stiff, but I can tell that an excessive amount of posing will lead to weak joints. As it stands (pun intended!) it's a bit tricky to get the right leg/arm pose to get him to stand correctly, and that's right out of the box.

Other than all that I love him! It's my first Hasbro purchase, and due to the crappy tech support and issues, it will probably be my last... But I don't blame Clovey!

yep. i'm going to my local hobby/train shop tomorrow and getting some prefab buildings for him to rampage through.

friday shall be glorious.

Thats feakin awesome!

I agree! I just want to marvel in it's greatness, but it's currently behind me while I work... Starin' at Clovey ain't gonna pay the bills!

Hmmm, building a makeshift city for him to stomp through is not a bad idea!

Ugh, just think of all the time that would take though...

Summer project?

I don't want to come off as a ******, but telling everyone how you're stealing a toy seems kinda douchey.

well, i'm not making the whole damn city. like half a block (4-5 buildings) is plenty at this scale.
assuming i get the figure friday, i could have that done by sunday, easy.

I forgot where I was posting! You guys rock. I guess it could become a weekend project depending on how much you toss in there...

Army guys and tanks I would think are a must... As well as some fishing line hung helicopters perhaps?

army stuff would be more expensive than a few buildings and i'm not 100% sure of the actual scale of the figure.
that would be something i'd add in later when i can know what to look for in the right scale.

I'm not stealing a toy...they cancelled my order. Seems kinda "douchey" to charge me for one and send it when I was told it was cancelled in a flurry of about 6 confused and conflicting emails. Serves them right. You know, it is legal in this country to keep things that are mailed to you that you didn't ask for. I'll probably just do a "return to sender" anyway...I'm really only into 1/6 stuff these days. Don't judge me without knowing me, that does come off as kind of "douchey".
Put yourself in my shoes- I'm unemployed, very limited savings, income, etc. The Cloverfield Monster is off my radar, because they have told me my order is cancelled unless I call them by phone to reinstate it. I did not call them, problem solved, it would seem.
Then when I got up this morning, I get an email that is titled "your order has shipped"- at first I think it's the Iron Man Mk III I actually pre-paid for months ago, because it is the only thing I figured it might be. Then I see "Hasbro" in the sender collumn (headslap) Do you really think it's fair for Hasbro to do that? I did not request a re-order. I did not request they ship it. Their problem, not mine, I'm not paying for their idiocy.

Alright, cool then. I didn't know you were unemployed and they shipped you something by mistake. But the way you told everyone you contacted your bank and had them change your account number and all just seemed....I don't know..."Douchey". Enjoy your free Cloverfield toy.
