PS - I think he looks WAY better with the closed mouth. Closed mouth looks more Alien. Open mouth looks more like a rat.

Yup, so if you want one, now's the best time to get it, unless you really hate the monster's design. But the figure itself is very well made; ratcheting joints so it's quite sturdy, a LOT of articulation points, very impressive sculpting (didn't expect that from Hasbro)...And let's not forget that it's absolutely huge.

How sturdy is it?

it is really sturdy, and much more poseable than i was expecting.
the joints are tight enough to hold its weight without being too tight to pose.
and the box/diorama thing it comes with is so awesome. it really adds a lot to the whole package.
the only downside to the figure is it only has 1 sound. it made all kinds of crazy sounds in the movie.
Toys R Us has some perfect military stuff that's to scale with it. i'm gonna wait till that stuff goes on clearance and stock up.

so, turns out clovey actually had those big air sacks in the movie like the figure has.

if you need a clearer image, i can downl-- uh, buy the bluray and get a cap.
but, i can definitely see the air sacks.

It's been a lot of months and a lot of controversy, but Hasbro has released their Cloverfield Monster. I wasn't expecting much out of this figure, but I was pleasantly surprised! Now, let's not get nuts here - the paint manages to defy all laws of physics by sucking and blowing at the same time, and even Donald Trump would pause at spending a $100 on this thing. Still, the sculpt and articulation are much better than I expected, and I'd love to see this thing repainted.

yikes, mine doesn't have anywhere near as much of that brown wash as yours got. that sucks.
and the figure is about 1:300 scale. there's plenty of military toys made in that scale to add to it.

yeah, mine looks completely different. but, it's not like Hasbro is known for killer consistent paint apps.
this thing would be super easy to re-paint if you don't dig the job Hasbro did, though.
i'm leaving mine as it is.

The SoL head and the little clay parasite in the video were created by Krypt Kiddies they came with a Cloverfield figure I bought on ebay last February.
