I'm a little surprised they didn't mention the decals to me in order to persuade me to keep mine. I received a full refund, including the NRD and shipping.

Yeah, if I would've taken the decals if they gave me that options. If I can find this on eBay for a $75-$100 cheaper I'll jump all over that deal.

can someone please take some better pictures, i am looking for closeup shots to see the paint quality.

honestly it doesnt look too bad from the few photos posted, but they are all pretty far away shots.

this is back in stock now, i am thinking about getting it.

Good to know that both the Reg & EX are back in stock.

If they fix the missing emblem problem I'll gladly repurchase this diorama again.

I would say that overall, the paint quality on mine was very very good, except for the few small parts where the paint was chipped off and what looked like some cracks in the paint on the base, or perhaps that was just a scratch. I personally don't like how they made the suits look a bit dirty, but other than that the paint was up to the best of Sideshow of late, overall. If there are no flaws in the finish (with has nothing to do with the paint APPLICATION), and you don't mind that the throne is too small, its a very nice piece. Unfortunately I took no pics of it assembled. Only close ups of some slight paint slobber of the silver of one of Cobra Commander's face domes onto his helmet, and some rubs on the base and throne. It's just not a $300 to me. $200-$225, yes.

spoke with sideshow, issue not fixed yet but they are working on it. So i will just wait until it's fixed then order.

I really like it, the smaller base didn't affect me until it was mentioned, the paint apps are really good, most of the Joe paint apps on all statues so far have been excellent. I had not issues with mine except the missing labels, I will still continue to wait for an answer on how they plan to fix them.

How do you forget to put the Cobra logo off of the chest? That is like a Superman without the S.

Pretty sure it was the facotry that forgot to print them out or they did and forgot to hand them out to the workers to apply them...I would think it would be pretty easy to send out the decals

They have done worse, all the snake eyes statues are missing a head. I had to tell about 5 ebay resellers, none of them had any idea.

Or buying a new laptop with a missing space bar.

Yeah there's no way I'm being convinced to buy this one.

Even if there's a fix at some point it won't matter to me.... I dunno why I take a strong exception to this particular piece..but I do. I guess it's the principal.

the verdict is in:

Thank you so much for your patience regarding your open inquiry for the Cobra Commander Diorama. After investigating this issue, unfortunately, at this time we will not be receiving replacements for the soldiers with the missing cobra emblems. We are very sorry for any disappointment this may cause you. Please review the options below to see how we can best assist you with this matter.

If you decide to keep your diorama we can offer you a $30.00 partial refund directly to the credit card on the order or apply the credit directly to any future or pending order. Just provide an order number or item that you want to order and we can get everything taken care of for you.

oh well I took the credit and applied it to another order, I will be attempting to paint on the emblems...no rush but will get to it eventually, wish they could at least send the decals and we could have the choice of applying them.

Thanks Spazzy!

To me the missing emblems is worth more than a $30 company credit. At least for me, I'm happy that I went the full refund route. I'll tell you one thing this blunder killed my whole Cobra Commander display theme.

Screw you SSC and your so called QC!!!

I am sure we will see more of CC

the emblems are a shame, but the piece is still pretty awesome, I am still happy with it overall.

So no decals?? Changed their minds they did. Too expensive, it was. Disappointing. I returned mine weeks ago.

I wouldn't think they would be extremely expensive to print out some decals, especially if not everyone is requesting it

Maybe that's why we did get any replacement emblems. There wasn't enough collector's that complained about this issues.

And that's the main problem in the collectibles industry today. All these pieces still sell out regardless of crap painting, or missing details, or crossed eyes, etc. People still buy it all up, so there is no incentive for Sideshow or HCG or whoever to fix these issues or improve QC. :gah:

I dunno about that. I think companies in business for this market are at more risk of pricing themselves out of customers. Supply is high and demand is low right now.
