The shape of the helmet makes them look pinheaded. I'd rather have them look like the 25th anniversary update:

I disagree, the helmet shape is very close to the vintage card art and figure, I just want some silver on the visor.

Looks real good, but I've got to agree--the silver mask from the card art would have been better. But you can't really go wrong with toy-accurate or card art-accurate.

Considering it.

There's room enough in my collection for polystone dioramas and PFs as well as 1/6 figures. I really love the creative license that Sideshow is taking with these dios.

I have the Snake Eyes vs. Red Ninja dio, and have the Zartan vs. Flint dio on order. The problem is that Sideshow really needs to do more to sweeten the deal on these dios, as they aren't moving that well. At 200 pieces, the EX for the Cobra Commander dio is 50 less than Zartan / Flint and 200 less than Snakes and the Ninjas; I guess Sideshow is realizing that these polystone pieces appeal to a small portion of the Joe market. They taken a good step with this EX, including two switchout heads and two switchout hands...but that's not quite enough to sell it to me yet. If Sideshow included switchout bayoneted AKs for the Crimson Guardsmen to swap the VECTORs, I'd be sold.

Really looking forward to that Roadblock vs. Cobra Troopers dio, though.

3 portraits for the ex!

Huh, just read that. Wonder if that's a typo, or if somebody didn't proofread the description. It makes it sound like there is three seperate heads sculpts, but that doesn't make sense. Only two are pictured, the hooded and helmeted. What would the third be?

"The Exclusive Cobra Commander Diorama, which includes two additional switch-out heads; one helmeted and one hooded, switch-out left hand holding a sword, and switch-out right hand holding a pistol for Cobra Commander, will be priced at $299.99 with an Edition Size of 200 pieces worldwide."

You're right. There are two different masks/helmets.

Is this one from a 90's version of the character, a 25th anniversary update, or something entirely new from SSC? Either way the classic version is much more appealing.

To me those pics just prove my point, the helmet should be much rounder. But, agree to disagree.

Looking again I see what you mean. I was focusing more on the helmet head on and you were noticing the side. SSC's CG helmet is more angular from the side than the vintage figure, but more round from the front than the 25th anniversary version.
