I'm honestly surprised that nobody's pointed out the fact that the SVD isn't a sniper rifle. :lol Guess that goes to show how much foundation there is for the anti argument. That would at least add a minute fraction of footing for the whiners, but they'd rather ^^^^^ and whine about fashion. :p

It wasn't designed as such, but that is what it came to be used for, at least by Russians.

And I guess the cheerleaders will never own up to the fact that this is the fourth variant into that line thats 9 figures deep.

I think we have owned up to it....

1) It's not one of the regular quarterly announcements for the line.

2) It's practical and actually makes sense vs. just being a color variant.

3) We're only 9 months from the initial release of Snake Eyes and "getting one per quarter" already have 4 substantial releases: Snake Eyes, Cobra Commander, Cobra Trooper and Storm Shadow.

4) The fact that Duke's on the way and we've already pretty much been guaranteed Beachhead and Firefly reassures that we have another 3 A-list figures on the way.

What I'm trying to figure out is how this is the 4th variant. If you can't add given that we have less figures than piggies :)p), no wonder you're so upset.

Granted, but that would've at least added a bit of legitimacy to their BS argument. :dunno:lol

If this is the type of A+ grand slam GI Joe setup SSC is going to produce for us each new year then I don't care how many extra variants they make like CCC and the Sniper.

No one is forced to be a completist. For those of us wanting a high end 12 inch Joe collection this line is literally a dream come true.

:lecture :lecture :lecture

and Snake Eyes has the gun pointed to my temple.

Personally, as long as SS puts out more original figures every quarter, they can release dozens of variants. My only issue is.....Should I pick up the Cobra Officer or the Sniper? Dilemmas, dilemmas.:banghead

I'm definitely gonna get this guy from a 3rd party vendor. I'm gonna swap out his weapons and gear and make a Spec-Ops Trooper.

He definitely looks like a Spec Ops/Night Ops guy. Khev mentioned this before, but you could give the Sniper's Dragunov to the Cobra Trooper figure and the Trooper's AK-74 to the Cobra Officer to maintain some sense of fidelity to the original RAH releases. Then give the Officer's silenced AK-74 to the Sniper.

Yeah I agree swapping the weapons amongst the Troops is a good idea. I was thinking about getting the Sniper a different tactical vest and weapons assortment to make him stand out a little more.

Right, I should be able to pick them up for well below retail from an online vendor.

Once you factor in rewards points discounts on future orders you save what, a couple of bucks from a dealer, if even that? And that's sacrificing the peace of mind of being able to replace any random accessory on your figure (or just return it outright) no questions asked even after 30 days of purchase.

I screwed up my 12 inch Qui Gon Jinn's tabbard during my first futile attempt at water treatment and they sent me a replacement a YEAR after I bought it. Name a dealer who would do that. Not in a million years.

Why should a vendor be responsible for your customization attempts???
I always open and inspect everything is present and accounted for when receiving orders from ANY purchase including Sideshow.
