Sniper is cool because, whereas the trooper looks like a crazed killer, the sniper looks like a refined killer. It isn't just in the expression of the eyes either. The entire uniform is much cleaner and more streamlined than the trooper's. The two of them standing next to each other on a shelf is an impressive contrast.

What's cool is that they didn't just retread the trooper clothes/gear in black.
I still dont understand why people that hated the CCC like the Sniper. I know he looks cool but, neither of them were made in 3/4, or appeared in the cartoons or comics.

I didn't think CCC looked bad. Actually thought he was pretty cool. I just didn't see a purpose for him. The sniper is a new concept in line with a tradition of Cobra trooper variations that goes back to the original figures. It just seems to make sense.
I'm not a vintage purist by any means, so I can accept it without any trouble. I won't buy CCC because he is pointless as far as I'm concerned.

I still don't get why people who bought CCC are trying to lump the sniper fans in the same boat. 
Cause there will always be snobs and know-it-alls among every group. They know the best way to do things or they think they do is a better way to put it.
CCC isn't a bad figure. He looks quite cool as I've said many times over nearly the last year since he was announced and we got our hands on him. I had no problems adding him to my collection and I've been playing with or collecting GI Joe since I was about 4 years old.
As far as the sniper goes he looks totally badass! Love the figure honestly. If I was in the military I would love to be a sniper. What I find funny is that people wouldn't think Cobra wouldn't have any snipers in their ranks. Its like really? Totally plausible that they would have them and use them. So why not make figures of them cause its a cool concept to go with. I hope we see more troopers like this one cause they've come out pretty damn nice so far!

I don't need to or haven't had to justify buying him personally. I liked it that's why I did.
My question was to the logic behind hating the CCC and liking the Sniper. I dont need people to justify the reason for buying it. I dont care if you like it or not. I was refering to the argument back when CCC came out that since he was never made in 3/4 or appeared in cartoons or comics, why did SS make him. Yet the same people love the sniper.

I think the Sniper looks cool also, but Im sticking to the "not in cartoon, comic, or 3/4 figure, not on my shelf" as my way to cut down on my purchases.

One is practical and makes sense from an evolutionary standpoint. The other's a candy, coated cash-in that doesn't even really look like he belongs.
Now, because the way Josh goes on, and possibly (as he did last time) pigeonhole everyone into an all or nothing label, I'll clarify. That doesn't mean he's not a good figure. He is. It just means that in the popular opinion, he's just not Cobra Commander and doesn't belong in the collection.
