Here's a pic of my Cobra collection so far. It would seem we could use more core Cobra characters soon. The Troopers and their variants are taking over.

I have no idea if this has been posted or not cause i do not follow this line, but i noticed the Cobra troopers are 49$ from gohastings (no idea if that is a good deal at this point or not either- just thought i'd share)

So tempted to get into this line.

Hey Bro...this is Sideshow's best line going for them and looks like its gonna get better as it goes...join Cobra's NWO now! :)

Sad thing is I rememeber when Jedi Luke first went up for pre-order and thinking that was a LOT for a 12" figure. Now its a steal!

I can't imagine too many people these days picking up the 1/6 scale collecting hobby that weren't already in it. We all got to adjust to the price creep from $50 to $60 to $80 and now $100-$125. ROTS got me back into collecting figures and I started with Hasbro. Going from $6 3 3/4 inch figures to an amazingly sculpted $50 12 inch figure seemed totally justified. Now Hasbro collectors looking to get into Sideshow are going from $8 a pop to $100-$125. Quite the jump.

It is amazing to me Hasbro can still produce a $20 12" figure though after all of these years. Sure they suck, but they always have :lol

I could see poly/statue collectors moving down, but I have to agree there aren't many small scale figure collectors moving up.

The 12" reproduction Action Soldiers and Adventure Team figures from last year were only $10 at Walmart and well worth it.

Yup, I bought mine at Target a couple years back, so it's probably the same one. My Cobra team is on the top shelf of the 5 five shelves.

I actually moved from the 25th Anniversary Joes and Classics Transformers (the figures that really jump-started my current interest in toys/collectibles) to the DC Direct 13 inchers, then straight to Hot Toys. It was a big jump, but when I was already shelling out $50+ per case of sub-4 inch toys, it was easy for me to rationalize spending 2-3X as much for figures that were significantly fancier. Ultimately, I was spending nearly the same amount of money, just on fewer things.

I did aswell.

What made it easy for me was i troop built the crap out of the 25th line. I have atleast 32 of all the main cobra troops (Blue shirts red logo, blue shirts silver logo, crimson guards, eels, snow serpents, BAT's, vipers, etc..)

I easily spent thousands on my 25th collection. My cobra army is massive and covers 5-6 ikea book cases..im still setting it up. I built the definitive Cobra / Joe army in my mind.

Now with the 25th over, and very very few hasbro figures worth getting (I am exceited about Sgt Slaughter and Lowlight), i decided to try the sideshow line... But it took 10-12 months for me to get onboard.

The cost is intimidating to some, but if SideShow releases 6 figures a year, with no army builders, I am spending significantly less. Up until recently I did not pre-order either so I paid less at online retailers aswell... except for Snake Eyes, but it wasnt too bad I bought it from the classifieds here.

Currently I have Snake Eyes, Cobra Commander, Storm Shadow, 4 Cobra Troopers, and a cobra officer. Duke should be here Monday/Tuesday. No interest in red cobra commander or the sniper at all. I ordered Firefly, Flint exclusive, and Beachhead exclusive.

That's the officer. This is the Trooper thread. :slap

Oh well like i said don't follow the line was just looking for a place to post the deal.

I was able to get a set of Cobra trooper relatively cheap (no, not gohastings cheap) so now I can have my MIB trooper and sniper and also set up the Cobra Cruel Troopers (sort of like the Blackhole Stormtroopers), to be the primary bad guys. The Joes are all but defeated, now. I can't wait to get pics of them wasting Joes up!
