Re: Collection Database Website

Hey Sexy!

I've added five more collectibles to the test and I noticed that under Brand/License that Sideshow Collectibles doesn't have Marvel listed.

Bowen and Gentle Giant do but not Sideshow. Just a heads up, brother!

Outside of that...everything is looking good! :yess:

I'll keep you updated on my testing. :D

Whoops, missed that one, I will get that added.

the only thing I would change so far is puting in the ES number after you add it

maybe change it to your number out of a preset 500 or whatever the total ES is

after you click on add to stash and the box pops up with the ES and what you paid for it

Ah...I see what you're saying. Maybe have a drop down menu to select you specific edition number? Maybe this could work as a collectibles registry?

Sounds like more work for Sexy! :lol

I see what you mean, that is a good idea to at least know what the total is for that collectible. It is setup right now that if you would enter in a es number that is more than total it will error back.

Activation email did not work.

Email sent.

Got your email, looking at this tonight.

Thanks again everyone.

I'll need to test that error kickback out.

When a collector adds a collectible to thier stash...will they get their particular collectible's information (Edition number, how much they paid, where they got it) to their statue's Details?

Right now I'm not seeing that information in the Details in my test stash.

You are correct. That stuff is added to their collection, the only thing you see right now would be the edition size but not the condition and where they got it. I also do not show the cost on the added collectible detail page either. I have the "stats" page that shows the cost but that needs to get heavily updated. I will get those details added out there, I forgot to put them on that page. Thanks for noticing that!

Cool and you're welcome! :hi5:

It's fun adding statues to the stash. :D :rock

This has been updated!

Let me know if any more licenses are missing. I only added a handful to start but can easily add more, until I can get the code up there so you guys can add them.

I see why this is not working. I put a 24 hour limit on the activation. I will reissue your id so you can reactivate and I will make that a little more friendly. I see the gap where that fails and why you got that cryptic message.

Sweet! :yess:

I'll keep ya posted on the licenses. :D

I'm looking forward to adding some other companies like Hot Toys, DC Direct, Weta, MR and whatever else I can't think of right now! :lol

:rock :rock :rock

Hot Toys was a given I should have put out there but I didn't have the time to enter the data and wanted to get your accounts out there. I will probably get that setup next. We might have to discuss DC Direct and MR and see best how to organize that data.

Okey dokey. I'll do a little research and write some stuff down later. :D

Re: Collection Database Website

Ok I'm in.

When adding to size, I think the Edition can be misleading. Am I entering the edition size ? Am I entering my edition number ? The wording is vague.

When trying to add a Collectible Variant, it takes me to the list of collectibles instead of allowing me to enter one. Should exclusives not be considered Variants and entered as such?

When entering the Dollar amount I think if you can, default it to number only entry, then have a drop down menu for USD, BRP, EUR, etc. Then on the person's screen it can show in the current USD amount with the foreign currency in parentheses. This may take some programing giving rate changes, but at least to limit confusion on the way monies should be entered.

I'll keep plugging away :)

Re: Collection Database Website

Please note that this is why I have not entered any exclusives, I really think they should be entered under variants.

I can add more directional text around this piece in both areas. When you are submitting a collectible you are adding the edition size and when you are adding to your stash you are adding an edition number. I can change the label for the stash so they are different and hopefully clear that up.

Ok this is my thought process on this one and I went back and forth for a while and I am looking to you guys to see if this makes sense. Note, I will definitely be adding more help information on this whole process. When selecting variant, that means there is a base collectible out there that that there is a variant of. I consider exclusives a variant of a regular/base collectible. So the first screen it presents you with a list of collectibles to search on, allowing you to select the one you want to make a variant of. Right now there has to be a base collectible added, to add a variant (this could get changed later). Once you select the base collectible you can then make some changes to enter in what makes this a variant. Right now that list of fields is pretty small and could get expanded on.

Let me know if that makes sense.

The idea was that most variants are pretty similar to the base except for some small changes, so I wanted to link it to a base collectible.

I like your thought on this one but it will have to be put down for future enhancement. For now I can add more text that indicates that this is USD and then maybe in the future under the user's profile options allow them to specify a currency? To their view would all be the currency of their choice.

Thanks again Jim for the feedback!

I think this will help. I mean I tried to add something to my stash before even submitting so how would I know being an stranger to it all ?

I guess I understand your feeling here. I can go either way. my mind set automatically went to entering an exclusive piece as a variant itself.

Understood. Sorry, my mind tends to go far when I do these things.

I think something maybe the $ sign in front of the box to show that only the number need be entered. Then have it default to show the $xxx.xx in your stash.

Thanks again Jim for the feedback!

Anytime bro. Just want to be helpful.
