But even if I didn't do my current proposed functionality I will need to do something similar for when creating bashes and customs I am thinking. I might prototype it out and included it in an early beta and see what people think.

Which to me means, its the best way to do it as you discussed. Why put off the inevitable.

I got started working on it last night. After my week gone with the flu I had to get caught up with the other job.

I am working on finishing the variant code, then I am going to take the current cut of code and go to production for an initial Alpha phase of testing. Depending on how I feel about Alpha I will then announce the Beta. I want to get to Beta as soon as possible even if the full features are not complete yet. I want to get something to you guys so you can start really testing and seeing if I am on the right track or you might like things differently or what other features you might like.

I tried but not the flu I had, I was hard out for a good solid 3 days and the other couple days I didn't feel like doing anything, plus what little time I had left I had to do my freaking day job unfortunately.
